    Fuel Canister/Water Separator Leak

Thanks Bob! That explains why I don't have a fuel pump on the back side. I just got parts from Geno's and plan to remove the canister this weekend / start replacing the rubber grommets and banjo washers. It's 17 years old. I suspect the rubber has just given out.

    Fuel Canister/Water Separator Leak

I've got a fuel leak from the back of my fuel filter canister. Looks like the rear banjo bolt. When the truck is idling, it drips and is easy to spot. It's not from the line, it drips from above that. Anyone know the torque spec on that bolt? Seems easy enough to order some banjo bolt...

    Should I replace Wastegate?

Maybe its too early for me, but whats a CEL?

    Should I replace Wastegate?

Well, to follow up: I put on a set of Cooper Discoverer ATP's (from Discount Tire). They are 285/70-17's. It did make a difference. The truck does not feel like such a dog when it starts out (like it did when I had 315's on it). I hope my fuel mileage in town will improve. It was at 12 or so...

    Retrofit a Cabin air filter? - 2005 QC 2500

I am not finding good reviews on the Geno's garage exterior cabin air filter setup. Too bad that web page does not allow feedback like Amazon so I can see buyer's input. Has anyone retrofitted or rigged a cabin air filter to the third gen? I'd like to see what you did. Any ideas?

    Starting my hub removal

On my 2005, and a friend's 2006, a heavy duty air hammer with blunt tip was used to work out the wheel bearing from the knuckle. Took the mechanic about 1/2 hour each side to work them out. They were rusty and stuck in real good. Each time we replaced the whole wheel bearing assemblies with...

    Should I replace Wastegate?

I just bought my truck in October 2013 with 81,000 mi. Diesels are new to me. So I appreciate all the feedback.given in the responses. it seems like I need to do more research on how to get the stock turbo to spool faster. I guess if I feel like burning 1500 to 2000 bucks, I can look into a...

    Should I replace Wastegate?

I'll ask him if his 2006 is tuned. He just bought it last year, and I don't recall him saying it was. Compared to my 2005, his 2006 feels really light (i.e. lots of immediate power) and no appreciable delay in power delivery compared to mine. Oh yeah, additional details: he has a 5" exhaust...

    Should I replace Wastegate?

I drove my friend's 2006, 5.9L 3500 Mega cab (285 tires) with 70k miles, and it responded much faster from a dead stop than my '05 2500 QC short bed (315 tires) with 89k miles. This is just from pulling off the curb, no revving up, no racing. I've looked around as much as I could, and suspect...

Can't find horn "spot" on the steering wheel in an emergency...

Wow, I TOTALLY forgot about those floor mounted high beam switches. I wish engineers had to drive what they design so they could fix it. Or, maybe its the "bean counters" that cheapen-up the engineered vehicles so the company gets more profit. Who knows.

Can't find horn "spot" on the steering wheel in an emergency...

(Edited to get rid of censored words) Yup, its the stupidest "effing" design I've EVER seen in a vehicle. Its a really poor design. On the steering wheel, there seems to be only one square inch near the top of the center pad on the right side that will actuate the horn. Its dangerous...

Tire Pressure - BFG All Terrain T/A KO - 315/70-R17

315/70-R17, 121/118S, Load rated "D". 2005 Ram 2500 QC, short bed, Cummins 5.9L, automatic. I bought the truck with these BFG tires already installed. The door jam says 60 psi front / 70psi rear, cold for the stock 265's. But the BFG 315's say 50 psi max. What pressure do I run them at...

Thank you Seafish! I got the bulbs ordered. I'll keep your list for reference in my phone from now on. Rob.

Help with changing transmission oil cooler hose # 52028920AH. '05 Cummins Auto.

As a follow up, I replaced this transmission cooler line at a great local Denver shop called DIY Automotive. GREAT business. Its my number one choice for more complex jobs just in case I get stuck on something. Incidentally, I did a tie rod end there too while I had the truck up on the lift...

Headlight Bulb NUMBER needed (not debating which bulb)

I'm in a hurry and can't find what bulb number to order for my headlights (not fog). I've seen 9005, 9006 and 9007 (JC Whitney)??????? (wtf?). Plenty of posts here debate types of bulbs etc but no one seems to be talking about bulb numbers. Someone know this? Thanks. Rob 2005...

truck falling apart, dodge never again

Um, I bought a new (used) '05 Ram QC 2500 CTD, 82,000 miles. I'm unimpressed with American engineering. I'll keep it to try to put at least another 100k on it, but I've already re-done the front end (UJoints, ball joints, bearings, etc.). Seems like low miles to have to rebuild the front like...

Help with changing transmission oil cooler hose # 52028920AH. '05 Cummins Auto.

I really appreciate the replies and heads up guys! Also, if anyone is looking, I bought my part for like $64 (part + ship) off ebay. Link below. Its a stock Mopar hose. Dealer wanted $79 + tax, so it was nice to save a few bucks. Click for EBay Link Here:

Help with changing transmission oil cooler hose # 52028920AH. '05 Cummins Auto.

Hey Guys, I have a 2005, 2500 QC, Cummins, with a 4 speed auto transmission (ATS). I think its a 48RE? (not sure, but I'm sure its not critical for what I'm asking). Anyway, I have a an oil cooler hose (that is both rubber and metal) that is connected to the driver’s side of the...
