Steering Frustrations (Slight Wandering, Replaced Everything)

So after over an hour of trying to get those bolts to move, I managed to move both of them VERY slightly. The Driver's side I can actually move back much further if I wanted to, but because I could barely get the passenger side to budge I didn't move the driver's side any further. The pictures...

Steering Frustrations (Slight Wandering, Replaced Everything)

Also, I forgot to mention a more qualitative symptom, when driving I do usually feel a pretty strong pull to the right at the steering wheel. After the last alignment of course. I'll go ahead and adjust the caster as you recommended first. I do have a stupid question for clarity however, to...

Steering Frustrations (Slight Wandering, Replaced Everything)

I completely agree that I should not be adjusting this screw, and that I should stay within the pre-load/mesh load torque totals in the factory manual (and adjusting it on a bench top instead of the truck), BUT that was literally the last recommendation that I received directly from Borgeson, as...

Steering Frustrations (Slight Wandering, Replaced Everything)

I was worried about the quality of the ball joints, and being susceptible to that problem. Unfortunately, when I replaced the driver's side outer tie rod in January, the knuckle moved pretty freely even with the wheel off. I didn't notice any binding throughout it's range of motion. Granted I...

Steering Frustrations (Slight Wandering, Replaced Everything)

The caster adjustment was too difficult to manage in the driveway, I can't seem to get the bolt to move with the truck on the ground (unless I'm doing something incorrectly, I didn't read much into adjusting the caster before attempting to do so), so I'm taking it to a lift tomorrow morning. I...

Steering Frustrations (Slight Wandering, Replaced Everything)

Unfortunately they were Duralast brand ball joints, I believe they were the higher quality type though (both have greasable fittings).

Steering Frustrations (Slight Wandering, Replaced Everything)

Haha, well thank you! It's been just the biggest frustration, and I've tried to attack the problem with everything I could. I've attached a reply with images of my current caster positions. I'll have to give that a try, moving both sides to the most forward notch. Also, how concerned do you...

Steering Frustrations (Slight Wandering, Replaced Everything)

The Ball Joints were replaced with Duralast brand, they don't seem to have gone bad yet.

Give me a moment to respond individually, but in the mean time I attached pictures of the current castor positions (Labeled Driver's and Passenger's Side).

Steering Frustrations (Slight Wandering, Replaced Everything)

NOTE: The majority of this first post consists of the email I sent to the technical reps at Geno's Garage, as well as Borgeson. They've offered as much assistance as they can, which I am very thankful for, but I still have not been able to resolve the problem. So I have a little bit of a...

Power Steering Hydraulic Filter & Bleed System

This is fantastic! Thank you for taking the time to post your write up, it's very thorough and well documented. I was actually debating last night on whether or not I wanted to use all 3/4" fittings or not. I think I might go that route, and fabricate a custom bracket to accommodate the assembly...

Power Steering Hydraulic Filter & Bleed System

Hey, I think I may have found the post your talking about: https://www.cumminsforum.com/forum/3rd-gen-powertrain/525297-power-steering-fluid-filter.html I scrolled down a ways to see your post and picture of the filter setup.

Power Steering Hydraulic Filter & Bleed System

When you did the linkage upgrade, did you go with the Mopar or Synergy option? I read conflicting reviews about both, so I just replaced the parts for my OEM linkage. I would definitely upgrade the pump & reservoir, at least for my '03 it's made a very noticeable difference in the ease and...
