    Chain Saw Recommendations

Failed / worn out insert repair. A commercial account turned this one in for fix it with no details just fix. And the chain brake handle was broken as a visible details. Basic insp and a test run test, yup it's a survivor. Chain brake handle time. This is possibly the easiest handle repair...

    Widening clutch pedal

Blakers, That easier pedal was very likely due to the circumstances I mentioned, back to more normal vs old and worn. Good luck with Doc. Gary

    Widening clutch pedal

Blakers, Are you running a stock clutch? Two things that increase the pedal effort and just to put into the discussion. The bearing slides on the guide tube. With time that grease ain't what it used to be so pedal effort goes up. And a traditional (non self adjusting clutch like the stock...

Replacing clutch hydraulics with Perfection pre-filled unit ( PF9064 ) review

Verk, That was me in both videos. 1st glad it helped. 2nd I retired in 2019 from Perfection. Now the big one, if you have found a confirmed leak, not good. Fluid can get out can also let air get in bad news. somewhere in the bleeding video I bet I showed the master cyl being tipped to let the...

    Chain Saw Recommendations

Last Friday I got paged to the lobby. This ain't gonna be good. I clear the corner and a gentleman is looking my way, Gary? yes, I'm Mark31. Talk about being caught off guard, huh, who? Then things start to click in as Mark makes the link to TDR and the chainsaw thread. Mark stopped in to pick...

Where's the radiator? It's in here somewhere

Blame this on the heat wave most are experiencing. A from memory list of notable repairs in almost 460K on this lowly commuter car. Purchased it used to avoid moving from a nice out in the country a bit 3 acre half treed lot with a brick 3 floor home with a walk out basement (unheard of here)...

    Chain Saw Recommendations

Guys, Just happened to see this YT from a railroad channel and looky here they are using a rail saw similar to above. Saw action is at 1 min mark and you can see the yellow rail anchor clamp that the saw is pivoting on. Carry on

    kdp

Anthony came down to SC and we installed a clutch together in his truck. Then he demo'd burnouts with it to a group of customers on tour. Good times. He was a big help gave me a NOS gear case and advice. A trip down memory lane. The truck was my sons first vehicle, we bought it broken due to...

    kdp

A trip down memory lane for sure. Did this on our 97 back about 2008 and what an experience. The only helpful hint I'll add that helped me a lot was a member from TN sent me a tappet so I could really create the fit and practice insertion and removal of the oak dowels that are used to hold the...

    Do I need a new master/slave cylinder?

That is an early damper system they tried for a short time. Powertrain engineers have a monkey on their back to always keep in check. The mayhem of NVH. I'll bet you'd find a steel drum head damper inside to take the "vibration spikes" from the Cummins/manual trans/clutch and attenuate them...

    Do I need a new master/slave cylinder?

Joel, That is a quick connection that has mysteriously disconnected. I'll call that a bit rare. If the history on the hydro's is fuzzy might just be easiest to hang a new prefilled system and call it good. Once that connection has disconnected then I'd be very suspicious about its future stay...

    PVC IRRIGATION REPAIR

Is that all there is? I left a little "housekeeping" for the owner. Next rain will likely modify this. Gary

Intake rubber elbow vane , can I buy just the white vane?

Don't know. This is from a 2007 sitting on my shelf now. The black elbow has 53032847AB on it. Gary

    PVC IRRIGATION REPAIR

I just wanted to try finishing this neighborhood hero project. New T's, fitting and that oh wow sliding extension repair connection. Powered it up and no leaks in the repairs found. Knock on wood etc. Did you guys really think this was over, nothing else to go wrong? While testing...

    PVC IRRIGATION REPAIR

Quick update. Excavation and root removal completed. All of that root and a bit more small stuff was under the pipes. Next trip is back to Ace hdwe. I'm pooped, it's hot and muggy out.

    PVC IRRIGATION REPAIR

The well is only for the irrigation. Yes both T’s are coming out. Way too nasty outside to work on it until cooler am hours. Don at Ace really helped me see path. I have done several pvc cpvc repairs but this one backed me up at first.

    PVC IRRIGATION REPAIR

Guys, I stopped at our ACE hdwe and chatted with a retired plumber that I know. He had the missing link that puts this together, hopefully and the START here advice etc. The missing link is an extension repair coupling like this...

    PVC IRRIGATION REPAIR

TDR, Cracked sprinkler system fitting. A single mom neighbor needs a bit of help and this one either needs a "pro" or some really good ideas for repairing this cracked T fitting. I've only excavated enough to see the scope of the damage. It sure looks like a tree root running diagonal under...

    Chain Saw Recommendations

Time for a new from the bench don't be these guys. First up from the small end of the Stihl offerings an MS170. No start condition, operator error. Duh. We at least take a look at the fuel tank but this one needed draining and rinsing. The fuel is supposed to go into the tank on the right and...
