    Exhaust Break Issues

Did they update your software? I have not had any issues with the exhaust brake, but it seems less effective after they installed the last update.

Is 3.42 the only axle ratio on Ram 3500 SRW?

This topic has been beaten to death. I tow 16,000# regularly and the truck handles it no problem. I towed the same load with my '11 with 3.73's and my '13 does a better job at highway speeds.

    DEF prices

I pay $7.59 per case for Peak. We buy it bulk also for $1.55 per gallon.

2nd Gen Non-Engine/Transmission Are the 12v trucks still in demand? parts/wrecks?

You could part it out for more than $1400. If you were closer I would take it off your hands.

    Best bug deflector

Yup. Get some clear 3M film and apply to the front of the hood.

And this is in the 4th Gen Ram forum because...?

    My Truck is "making" oil?????

They get overfilled during oil changes. I'm on my third 6.7 and they all act the same. I put 11 quarts in and then check/top off the next morning. Usually only takes another 1/2 quart.

    Aisin VS 68RFE

That would be because there are way more 68RFEs out there than Aisins. Way more. I'm on my third truck with a 68RFE and I have had no issues. I tow around 16,000 pounds. I have nothing against the Aisin, but there is no way I could justify the extra $$. I run my trucks to around 90k miles and...

    Why should I choose a 6.7 over a LML?

Go out and drive them all. Don't buy a truck on others' opinions. As for the delete stuff, you are better off going with a Ford with a 6.4 if you are looking to do all of that stuff. Much better market and there is a ton of power available.

    Aisin transmission vs others

The weakest link with these trucks is the driver usually. I tow to the rated capacity of my truck and it performs flawlessly.

Dash calculated fuel consumption average vs hand calculated average

Over 10,500 miles so far mine is off by 8.6%, or 1.45 mpg. It is pretty consistent. I track every fill up, and I use the same station and pump 90% of the time.

    Aisin Rear Diff Cover Oo.

Common knowledge... It is an AAM axle. I've had one for quite awhile.

4th Gen owners with no problems.

On my second 4th gen with few issues to report. I put 90,000 miles on my '11 and only had a few problems (steering box, TPMS quit, short in headlight wiring, and one steering axle u-joint). 18,000 miles on my '13 with no problems to report.

Status on late August Trans flash

Never heard of it, and my 68RFE shifts perfect.

    Firestones on a dually??

I would not buy Firestone tires. Too many other better choices out there. Toyo and Michelin are what you should look at.

    Aisin downshift ?

    Thanks, great explanation.

check engine during test drive - worry ?

Not sure what makes people think it is so much better than the 68RFE. I'm on my third 68RFE without a problem... Guess it is a bragging rights thing.

    Back in a Ram

I don't bash brands... I drive a '96 Powerstroke everyday and have several other Ford trucks. I converted to Dodge back when the whole 6.0 fiasco came out, and thought I would try Ford again now that the 6.7 has been proven to be a good engine. Problem is I am so used to driving the Ram, that I...
