I was about to try mounting up Alcoa super singles on the rear of my ram. I was looking
into 10 hole 285mm adaptors. They would have added 1&1/4 inches of offset outwards
which was perfect for me. They were steel so they would take weight. I was very
nervous about using aluminum. I ordered...
There is great discussion on the 6. 7L section about "acceptable" amounts of fuel in the
crankcase lube oil. How many of you have had this experience with your 5. 9's?
Sag2, you stated "The reason I have run so many samples is I was trying to prove out the
oil change algorithm, and so far it had been very close. " Close to actual? Further, why is it that
we have a recommended change of 5000 and the DPF causes us to change at 2500 miles, roughly?
I will say that care in what you do to it and maintainance are critical.
The very first mod I did was to add a FASS 95/95. The second was
to add an FS-2500. The first filters your fuel and removes air and
water. The second filters your oil in addition to the regular filter.
I am waiting for...
Yes, I am fully aware of the paper requirements and safety equipment.
I studied for a Bus Driver License and that was covered there as well.
Thanks for the reminders though.
I could not afford a one ton dually due to conditions beyond my control. However, I can upgrade. I plan on replacing suspension with one ton megacab
leafs and coils. I will also add airbags and alcoa rims with 455/50R22. 5 x14
super singles on rear with appropriate steering axle tires and rims...
Do any of you haul autos for a living? May I ask where you get your
insurances? What are your levels of coverage? My wife and I are
going into a new venture with out 08 RAM Heavy Duty 6. 7L

I installed an FS-2500. Very easy to install. Will do regular oil analysis
and change full oil when recommended. Will change filters at 5000 miles,
add to replace lost oil, and analyze. Will report findings here. Using Mobil 1

I picked up my 08 2500 w/22 mi. on it in Bristow, OK, filled it and drove to Wichita, KS at 75 on cruise. Got 18. 3. I hooked on my 26' Prowler toyhauler and drove 65 and 75 from there to San Jose, CA, Averaged 7. 8. I drove from San Jose to Freson and back (278 mi)
at 65 on cruise and empty...
Urea, in solid form at least, is an explosive when combined with diesel fuel,eg Oklahoma City Federal bldg
destruction. That may have something to do with it also.
I just purchased a 2008 QC, 6. 7L, 6spd Manual trans, 3. 73 limited slip,
SRW, Longbed. I noticed that reversed moved from the top right spot
to the far left and back spot. Is this a new configuration G56 or
something else?
I have the G56 6spd manual. I like it for towing, but I do not do much of that.
I also like to put my foot in it. The manual does not like to speed shift. I
would like the auto trans for that. If it were me, I think I would bullet proof
the auto trans and make sure I had good trans coolers...
Oh and the only way to get a new engine is through Dodge. Even cummins cannot get one from commins. I did find a place that sells like new long block for 6K but then there is teh labor cost to add on.
