I guess that since you are talking about re-packing bearings that your truck is 2 wheel drive correct?

I guess my advise would be. Keep all lines of communication open, try to make her smile, and don't sweat the small stuff that won't matter in the end. Just enjoy each others company every day.

    Fluctuating tach readings

My father's stock 2006 Megacab had this problem as well. A new gauge cluster was put in at around 40k miles and has been fine for the last 20k miles. Luckily it was under warranty at the time or i'm sure it would have been an expensive repair.

    Engine/Transmission (1994 - 1998) Towing Power Issues

I would also check to make sure the timing hasn't slipped. A slip in timing would be more noticeable when under a heavier load.

2nd Gen Non-Engine/Transmission Shock Absorber Opinions Please

Seems like most people are running the Bilstien 5100's around here. Some what pricey at about $75 / each but most say they are worth it. I'm currently in the market for shocks myself and I think thats the route I'm going to take.

06 Mega Cab 6 speed rpm in 6th gear?

My father has an '06 Mega, 6 speed, 2500, 4x4, stock everything and regurally gets 19-21 mpg commuting to work. Now pulling his 26' travel trailer he gets around 15 mpg. The RPM sounds pretty close to what his is at that speed. Have you checked all the basics? Fuel and air filter? Have you...

2nd Gen Non-Engine/Transmission Problem with fuel tank sump

Yep, dropped the tank yesterday, the screen and tank were very clean. Had the pre-screen on the lift pump/fuel heater and it was clean. Ran all new fuel lines and installed an electric fuel pump to top of tank and still getting air in the system somehow. Do you still run into suction problems...

2nd Gen Non-Engine/Transmission Problem with fuel tank sump

So my truck won't hold more than 5 psi of fuel at max, and I have narrowed it down to sucking air somewhere in the tank sump. (the large plastic assembly in the top of the tank) now is there anywhere besides the dealer to get this part? The dealer quoted me $332 which is kinda steep. Or...

    buying 1st gen truck

I would look for rust around the drip ring above the windshield, and rust anywhere in general such as back wheel wells, cab corners, and floor pans. As far as price that truck should be worth $5,000 around here if it was taken care of. Is it an auto or manual?

2nd Gen Non-Engine/Transmission The right tires

I also like the General Grabber A/T's they were a good tire and reasonably priced, but the last time I was in the market for tires no one had them so I purchased the Cooper Discoverer STT's and I have been happy with them so far, but I only have around 8,000 miles on them so I can't say much for...
