    Heater blows cold air

The only way i can see this happening is if the controls are not working properly. Both "heat" and "vent" come from the heater core (obviously) and just get routed differently by the ducts. I don't see how one could be hot and one could be cold, other than "vent" getting routed from the...

    Heater blows cold air

As erratic as it is, it screams vacuum leak to me, thats just the feeling i get. Do you use "heat" or "vent" on hot? Is it blowing out of the correct location? Did you get a chance to check that vacuum valve on the top of the engine? Which hoses did you check? I hate vacuum lines  Chris

    35 inch tires???

Trim a little and fold it back under with some channel locks or something. Nothing worse than pulling a tire off and cutting the top of your head on your fender  Also if your tires where ever to come close enough to the fender you don't have to worry about the metal cutting into the...

    35 inch tires???

Here is a '90 with 33x12. 50's on 16. 5" wide rims. They clear with no lift and don't rub at all. Here is my '90 with 315's (35x12. 5's) on stock rims. I have a 2" body lift and cut front fenders. There is so much clearance on mine because it used to have 36" tsl's on it, which cleared...

    Heater blows cold air

The vacuum lines go through the firewall right behind your glove box. If you take your glove box out you can see them. If that valve is not getting enough vacuum your heater will never work, it shuts off the coolant to your heater core. A quick fix is to take a zip tie and push that plunger all...

    U-Joint Question

Sorry, I wasn't very clear. I'm talking about a vehicle that still has a suspension, but at rest the d-shaft is at 0*. I help my buddies sometimes with their custom projects, and we were working on making the drivelines one day. He had to rework stuff a little bit to give the driveshaft an...

    Dodge Diesel's for Dummies

My buddy is a master mechanic and he always does this to us. We say something about "the motor" and he'll replay with, "motor huh? well, which motor are we talking about? then he'll start to list all the various motors in a vehicle until he's had his laughs. Chris

    Dodge Diesel's for Dummies

My personal favorite (maybe its just where i live) is, "man that thing is loud, you should cut out your muffler and make it really loud!" I one time almost got into a full blown argument with some idiot at the Dodge dealership (not an employee) no less. He informed me that '94 was the first...

    U-Joint Question

Thats what i understood. But i think thats if the shaft was at 0*. Once you angle it, its not so cut and dry. If i understood him correctly.

    U-Joint Question

I was always told if you run a u-joint at 0* it will fry it because the pins won't move. Is there any truth to that? (while we're on u-joint theory). Chris

    Electrical problem, only 9 volts

And the externals are only about $15 on the expensive side. Chris

turning up my pump today. few questions first!

Yes i learned why the power was set to what it was set at in my statistics class. Dodge determines what % of trucks they want to warranty and sets the warranty period accordingly. Then they altar the truck to make that warranty as long as possible. A 250hp Cummins in front of a Getrag will most...

    Transfer case problems

Most of the twin shifter kits are mostly just brackets for the two shifters. All you really have to do to make your 205 a twin sticked transfer case is take out the two "pills" that ride in between the two shifter rods. That lets you shift the two forks independently of each other. Yes...

    Transfer case problems

When the transfer case is out of the truck and you don't have all those linkages on it you literally have to use a rubber mallet to shift it. I rebuilt mine myself and thought i put the forks in wrong because i couldn't' shift it. I figured a freshly rebuilt transfer case should shift pretty...

What castor angle are you running?

After staring at that picture for about 10 minutes I see why you guys are right. If i was standing next to the truck I could tell you, but pictures and talking about it confuses the crap out of me #@$%! When we do our spring over axle conversions we point the pinion towards the transfercase...

What castor angle are you running?

It has always been my understanding that you want 2-4* negative caster. That's how we set them up when we do spring over axle conversions anyway. I believe if you get too much angle you'll blow through tires, that's the warning I always got for going too far. Chris

What castor angle are you running?

By negative castor you mean pointing 4 degrees below horizontal right, like pointing towards the ground?

    Voltage Regulater Failed....Again!

I'm pretty sure '92s have the voltage regulator built into the pcm. I think the external regulators are only on the older trucks, but I could be wrong. Chris
