Thanks for the help, I think. So the ECM is the square plate that is bolted to the block? And the wires from it lead to sensors? And any of them may have an issue.

Yes and yes. Mechanical pump and nozzles. And I'm thinking dirt made it past the filter. Also, lots of hours on the meter. It's a '97' model. So now with that information established let's start speculating, guessing, or just tossing the dice on how to best address the situation. Thanks

A while back I inadvertently pumped some dirty fuel into my Kubota M4700 tractor. I drained the bad fuel and changed the filter (several times) and added Diesel Klean to the fuel. Having done that I now have a "miss" in the engine, if it were a gas engine I would be checking wires and plugs. So...
