    When To Use The Tow/Haul Feature?

    I use the EB without T/H when pulling 9000 lb boat. The trailer has excellent 4 wheel disk brakes and the T/H mode causes harsh cycles when the truck gears down and the trailer surge brakes grab then releases then grabs ... ... you get the picture. Everything is very smooth with the T?H off.

    Best Warm Up Process?

    I hit the remote start while eating breakfast. With 30 degree temps and using the block heater it still has to run 15 minutes before the cab is real warm. And that is fine. I'll pay the little extra in fuel to have a warm cab and not scrape windows.

    Whats the block heater wattage?

    The heater on my 09 CTD does not warm up the engine nearly as much the one on my 04 CTD. It may be the same, or even double, the wattage but it doesn't work as good.

    09 problems ?

    9600 miles and no problems. 17-18 MPG mixed hwy/city and 9-10 MPG pulling a 9000 lb boat. I cannot use the Tow/Haul & exbrake together. The hard down shifts cause the trailer's surge brakes (4 wheel disc) to clamp down hard causing a very hard jerk on the truck. I worry that I will destroy the...
