    Boss Plow lights

My 06 3500 4x4 auto dually lost the low beams on both the truck and the plow, high beams ok on both. Am told the TIPM was either bad or needed reflash. Supposedly the TIPM controls lights, and if voltages exceed limits or there are bad connections it shuts down lights. Dealer cleared codes and...

    2006 Dually Tire sizes

I am running stock factory wheels and tires. How taller, not wider, can I go? I figure with my stock 3:73 rear my 4x4 automatic may get better mileage. I know my dealer will have to readjust computer to adjust for revolutions per mile.

    Trailer Plug

#1: The drawing in the 06 owners manual showing the 7 pin trailer connector: Which way are we looking at wiring diagram? Looking from the rear of the truck looking in? OR looking at the rear of the plug! I need the ground and the 12vdc blades that will illuminate twin 55 watt lights that are...

    2006 EGR'd?

Does my 2006 3500 dually 4x4 auto, manufactured in May 2006, have a egr valve? I can't seem to find any information in my service manual cd to indicate it has one. I do have a cat. converter. It was sold new to me in Pannsylvania. Thanks very much.

    Backup Lights

Anyone ever have intermittent backup lights? My dealer adjusted some cable on the steering column. It worked till I got home and again you got to play with the shifter to get them to work (automatic).

    Finicky Backup Lights on 06

My 06, an automatic, the backup lights work sometimes. If I shift from P to L and back again, then into R they come on. If just going from D to R and back, like when plowing, they don't come on. I am told by dealer that the shifter cable under dash needs adjustment. Is this something I can do? I...

    New Snow Plow

Just had a new 9'2" Boss V plow put on my 2006 auto 4x4 quad cab dually 3500. Lifting the 850lb plow my back end really lifts high, and they sit high to begin with. I raised my tires to maximum 80psi, and was worried in a panic stop with the plow on I would lose control. So, I bought a pallet...

    KEYFOB: SLT verses Dakota

My 08 SLT 2500 has 2 factory Keyfobs and the VALET key. The VALET key will start the Ram, but then it shuts off after a short while. All is normal. The Dakota, the VALET key will not only start the truck but the truck will keep running. What gives?

    Just bragging 'bout my 06

While we read many problems or issues from time to time, I just want to send a high note! My 06 4x4 3500 DRW Laramie QC auto is just a great truck. I just returned with my 15,000lb fifth wheel from a 1600 mile trip. It just ran great plain and simple at 48,000 miles. Totally stock except for a...

    2008 Engine idle up feature

My 2006 has a head temperature sensor that when idling in cold temps, if the head temp drops it wil increase idling rpm's. I know a guy with an 08, the dealer says this feature is not on 08's, I say wrong. He was fueling in 28' temps with engine idling and all of a sudden rpm jumped to 1000 rpm...

    Power Puck "OUTTA HERE" !!!

My 06 dually with 34,000 miles just had all 6 injectors replaced and all 6 fuel lines. The high pressure fuel valve failed and excess pressure blew out 5 of 6 injectors. When they were removed fuel ran out of them. I noticed over a few weeks time that it would idle a little rough sometimes...

If there HAS to be a bright side to high fuel $

I may get thrown off this forum for saying this... here goes... flame away boys! I pay the same as you all do, actually higher here in PA for some reason now looking on Flying J website (and you will see PA the highest). Traffic in my part of SE PA is pathetic, you can't believe the traffic for...

    Strutting up a 7% grade towing 15K

I am very happy and surprised with my 100% STOCK 06 3500 DRW Auto 4x4 3. 73 8' bed truck. At 12,000 miles I towed my 35' 15,000 5th wheel to Charlotte NC from Pennsylvania. There is a 7% grade that climbs for 7 miles. I kid you not, I started at 70-73 mph... ... . and in the center lane (right...

    2006 Sweet Spot ?

 SWEET SPOT... ... My 06 3500 DRW 4x4 auto 3. 73 turns 1500 rpm at 55; 1800 rpm at 65; and 2200 at 7500. I get 12. 5 around town with winter blend, and 22 mpg highway 55 cruise control. I always thought the lower the rpm the less fuel you use. Am I to understand that I may get better...

    Console 06 verses 07

Just when I thought my 06 3500 DRW 4x4 Extended cab Laramie couldn't get any better... . I saw on this forum pictures of the 07 console. Miles ahead of an 06. Nice wood finish... real cupholders... more cubby holes... . let me guess, if I buy the 07 center console, it won't fit in my 06...
