Would a stock air box be quieter then a BHAF, and are all 2nd gen stock boxes the same? So if I found one from a '02 it would work for my '98? Thanks

My truck came with a BHAF tucked into corner with a bun-gee cord holding it down. There's nothing around it to direct any air into it. I can't imagine this is a good set up with all the heat under the hood? Would I be better off putting in a stock air box? I'm not really interested in spending...

The po was running 255/85R16 Big O tires that he said he only got about 11k miles out of #@$%!
