i replaced the wheel bearing on my 94 this morning and when i pulled the old one out the axle shaft slide right out, should they do that? should there be a bearing on the axle tube to hold the shaft from flopping around or do they use the bearing to hold the axle?

Is there a way one can wire in a switch to override so i can turn on the engine fan whenever i want? i know there is a series of 5 wires going to the fan, or else if i can jump one of the relays?
