    Anyone documnt MAX PULLING w/2018, 6.7TD, 68RFE, 4x4?

Greetings fellow Patriots! I'm thinkin' 'bout helping pull some logs from a field's edge to & down a semi-paved road, for a friend. I'm thinkin' 'bout "investing" in some SK75 Dyneema HDPE rope. 3/8" MBS rated @ 19,600# Stated towing cap. is 17K#, but in 4x4 Low, how much can my modest truck...

3rd Gen Banks Economind Module & Cable - AUCTION ENDING 10-5-2023

Greetings my fellow diesel rats & smoke eaters! Sad to say my '04.5 (375,231mi) found a new home 5 years ago. 6 yrs ago I had issues with the Banks Economind Module, to return home from our Florida vac. They over-nighted a replacement. It was the wrong model for my truck, thus I was stuck...

Needed engine S/N to buy Fleetguard Oil Filter

Greetings Pards; Had my first NON dealer oil change @ local trusted shop, for a little less $$ and better personalities. The shop called to report cannot get a Fleetguard oil filter. I replied that its necessary to support any future engine claims I may have to make on my extended maintenance...

    1st 500 miles towing @ 50mph max.? Really?

Our new 2018, 2500 CTD, 4x4 has 7200 miles now & 1st oil change. We're prepping for 1st trip South (1300 miles) with new truck, towing 15K Montana High Country in 2 weeks. The owners manual says to keep 1st 500 miles towing, @ no more than 50mph. That speed is almost hazardous going thru...

2018 Ram 2500 Side Window Wind Deflectors

P/N 82213487AC, $114, from local dealer, came pkg'd with black metal clips too long to fit into window frame. I decided to go with Mopar, 'cause it was reported to me by OEM Dlr. that some issues arose using the Weather Tech channel insert style, as their flange design was a bit too thick &...

2004.5 HO, Ram 3500, diesel, OEM ECM

OEM ECM replaced 2/2017 with a refurbished unit as a final troubleshooting effort to solve my BANKS tuner issues, no joy. OEM ECM resides in bubble wrap ever since. I'm in no hurry, but offering it up to gage any interest out there. If this is wrong approach to selling, I'm open to...

    Just celebrating 20.25MPG town/hiway & 23.30MPG highway.

The 1st 562 miles were mixed & yielded 20MPG! Now at 933 odo, a 133 mile road trip calc'd at 23.3MPG! Gotta say I'm 2nd guessing why I didn't allow logic to guide my decision to get a "modern" Ram years earlier, to say nothing about the improved ride, etc. Not braggin', just had to share some...

Is 2018 computer storing operational data? Who can see it?

Picked up my new 2018 3-4 days ago, had 166 miles because it was driven from a (related) dealer 150 miles away. After plowing thru the internet manuals/guidelines, I actually found a brief paragraph re: diesel engine breakin. Not to exceed 50mph nor towing for 1st 500 miles. I got a chill...

Full synthetics: Shell Rottela vs Premium Valvoline?

I've been a 55 year user of Valvoline motor oil. Now my new 2018 is filled with Shell Rotella. Anyone with technical comparisons re: wear, varnish, etc.? I'd like to stay with Valvoline product. Thanks.

    Shouldn't the 2019+ be considered 5th Gen?

...especially due to the entirely new engine design? Just sayin'.

2018 Ram 2500 Diesel; Rear air suspension issues/operation?

Guess I'm gunna buy a 2018 Ram 2500 diesel next week. (My 2004.5 is in the classifieds.) I'm leary about the potential failure modes with a 2100# hitch weight whilst towing. This model year seems too new for any helpful blogs. Do 14 check valves prevent leakage & maintain last position...

Going from 20" Blacked Out to 18" Polished Aluminum - OK?

We're buying a 2018 Ram 2500 Big Horn soon. It's all "Murdered Out" 20" wheels & wife really prefers polished Alum. wheels. Son #3 has a set of 18" polished Alum. & tires from his 2013 Ram to give us. Suspect any fitment issues? Thanks. P.S. Anyone local needs 5 "Murdered Out" 20" wheels...

Buying 2017-2018 Big Horn; Pls. what to look out for?

Time to sell my signature '04.5 truck. We're reluctantly replacing it with a '17-'18, maybe a '19 this close to the 2020 model year. Totally unfamiliar w/historical issues to watch for, avoid or ask about. Essential features needed are: 2500, 6 speed transmission, 4x4, Cummins, cloth seats, 4...

Carter In-Tank Fuel Pmp Failed; 5 yrs & 75K miles. What's better this time?

To make matters more frustrating, this is the 4th visit to the repair shop in 4 weeks...arrrgh. NAPA is verifying if this may be replaced under warranty by "Carter". When asked if they should get one for me, I answered, "I'm not exactly sure I want this manuf. item." Thus my query, is there...

My truck rides like a truck! Anyone using "fast compression" rear shocks?

I 'think' we need rear shocks with adjustable "compression" to alleviate the impact forces transmitted to our frame. Loaded with RV is ever so slightly better, but not comfy on our journies. The 1st tier suppliers avoid using any marketing lingo that might resemble a technical term for fear of...

Is it time for PM & replace orig working Pwr Steering unit?

Getting towed today from a hospital parking garage because a coolant leak caused the serpentine belt to jump off pulleys. (orig wtr pmp replaced 8 yrs & 132K miles ago) Wife is getting more anxious about the future reliability on the road. When asked "What else can break now!", I calmly...
