    Anyone running Nitto Terra Grappler?

I have the 305's E rated, and 2" leveling lit. The look is awsom, the ride is great, the RPM drop is about 300 RPM's, you won't regret installing them, just make sure you rotate them every 5000 miles, they want to cup a little, and it causes some road noise, I would buy them again, no question...

    Banks Ram-Air® Intake System

I installed one about 2 months ago. The quality is very good, the design is also good. They are offering the Super Scoop attachment sometime real soon, it is a intake runner attached to the bottom of the air box, to down under the truck. What I really like, its a real cold air intake, and...

    2005 power seat most uncomfortable

I did the seat fix, 3 times, it never was a very good seat, I since tossed the front seats, and the console, replaced them with after market high back leather seats, and a provided consol. I had a real rough time modifying the factory power seat tracks to work with the new seats, end product...

    Normal Trans Temp ?

I just installed a EGT, and Trans Trmp in the cab, The trans temp is connected to the probe in the trans cooling line, I suspect the outgoing side. I have't towed yet after the install, but notice the trans temp is about 205-220 degrees, is this look normal?, and how hot is hot?, the gauge shows...

    EGT Temp Question

I read EGT should be under 1400 degrees, but most I think have the probe installed close to the engine, drilled into the exhaust manifold. I elected to install mine in the foreward test hole in the Pacbrake that is after the turbo. I know the temps will be lower than the manifold location, so...

    aam axle servise

First change 30000 miles, oil was almost like new, no wear, next one will be at 90000, than at every 60000, Mobil #1, when I start some real towing I may shorten the distance.

    Front Seat Fix

Removing the floor support isn't a problem, it is a stamped metal piece, spot welded to the floor sheet metal. I can remove the spot welds, cut it down, then reweld it, or replace the brace with two sections of steel, one under the floor, and one on top. The other option is remove the seat...

    Front Seat Fix

This has been covered many times before, but I plan on going a little farther with it. First the 2005, with leather is a real bad seat, for me I found the thing to soft in the center, I did the 1" foam trick, that helped, but the real problem is first the seat is mounted to high off the cab...

How much weight can I tow?

I am starting to get the picture. First the Gross combined weight of my truck is 21000 pounds, I think I will be about there. The GAWR on the rear of my truck is 6200 pounds per the sticker, the rating is based on the 265 tires that came on the truck, I now have 305 tires, with a rating of 3640...

How much weight can I tow?

Someone please explain this to me. The sticker on the door opening says never exceed combined people, and cargo 2743 pounds, the gross of the truck is 9900 pounds, the rear axle is I think 6900 pounds, the tires are rated at 3750 each. It's a 3500 long bed SRW, with a 48RE trans. I want to get a...

Bed Rail Height, and a 5th Wheel

Both replys are very helpfull, but a dual rear wheel truck has smaller tires, and the 2" front leveling kit does raise the rear a tad, so if someone has a trailer close, and is parked level, what is the height from the ground to the bottom of the overhead part, and how much space is required...

Bed Rail Height, and a 5th Wheel

I am going to purchase a new 5th wheel soon. My concern is the height of the bed rails, the truck is a 2005 3500 4x4, SRW, stock except it has 305 tires, and 2" leveling spacers in the front. The rails measure 57" tall at the center from the level ground at the center of the rear wheel well...

Anyone purchase a Sirius Lifetime service for $499 ...

Yes, almost 3 years now, I like the programing, and the reception is great, just do the math, it works for me, since I will own this truck for another 8-10 years, if your keeping yours for a shorter time, a differient package may be better

    Rear Cab Vents

On my 2005 Quad Cab, there are 2 vents behind the rear seat, they vent the air out I would guess between the rear of the cab, and the front of the bed. A lot of noise comes in from these, I was thinking of blocking them off with a sound deadener on the rear of the cab under the carpet. My...

    48RE Tow Haul ?

What is the Tow Haul button really do in my 2005 3500? I tow a 5000 trailer from time to time, all I see is when I push the button it wants to down shift, on a long say 5% grade going up it keeps it from shifting up, I push the button and take it out of tow haul it drives better, am I missing...

    Best front brake pads

The reason I get 40000 miles out of the front pads is I drive 90% in the foot hills, a lot of stop and go, my guess them who can get 100000 plus miles live, and drive in the flat lands, every vehicle I ever had wore them out like this one, it may also be the way I drive. Thanks for the help, Ron
