    power steering filter

That's part of the reason for the 15 psi bypass; any time the pressure on the inlet side gets 15 psi higher than the outlet side, the bypass will open and the fluid will go right past the filter. My opinion is that the pump would rather tolerate a little higher restriction (filters on the...

    power steering filter

Yeah, CAT is funny like that. They publish more vague charts than hard numbers like most other filter mfgs. :{ For some reason my dealer changed my permissions or something in SIS so I can't get to a lot of the search features that don't require a SN... kinda aggravating. #@$%!

    power steering filter

According to this pdf from CAT, the filter is in their 'Advanced efficiency' line, which states 11-27 micron efficiency range. Nice and vague, thanks cat. As far as filtering cold oil, I don't think that will be a problem. After an easy trip around the block, the filter was definitely warm. As...

    power steering filter

Though I'd post some pics of my new power steering filter. Fluid was looking/smelling bad, so I figured adding a filter and a fluid change would be a good idea. Thought about a magnafine filter, but this is super easy to change, has a lot more capacity, and I get a good deal on the filters...

    Coolant Filters

subscribing... seems like my heater return hose hits a hard pipe right behind the turbo, which runs along the block under the exhaust manifold to a port down by the lower radiator hose. 10-4 on the slow warm up; don't need to make that any worse! Post up results when you get it done...

What is good PSI for PRIMARY fuel pressure?

Size of filter maybe? Haven't had any trouble with my CAT filters, but they are huge, pushing 12" long...

    ball joints

yeah, I'm definitely wanting nonadjustable and greaseable... just trying to figure out if the 'raybestos' brand from rock auto is made by spicer.

    ball joints

Needing ball joints, was looking on rock auto, and they list a set from Raybestos, 5001117 upper and 5051311 lower, which seems to match up with the spicer numbers. Are the raybestos made by spicer, and are they any good?

    Engine-mounted Cat 2 micron/water separator

I don't know of any other places online besides ebay... your local CAT dealer can hook you up.

    Engine-mounted Cat 2 micron/water separator

Ok, here's the maintenance intervals on the older C13's & C15's: http://safety.cat.com/cda/files/557611/7/3406E,%20C-10,%20C-12,%20C-15%20and%20C-16%20On-Highway%20Engines-Maintenance%20Intervals.pdf Fuel filters are due at 15,000 or 2500 gallons or 300 hours. As stated above, these engines...

    Engine-mounted Cat 2 micron/water separator

Holy crap man, that a lot of filtration. I thought mine was a little excessive :D Honestly I can't see what it could hurt, as long as the pump can keep up (you running an upgraded LP?). I really like the quality of CAT filters. AH64, I'll have to look at work tomorrow, but these things are...

    Engine-mounted Cat 2 micron/water separator

Yep, right now I'm coming out of the stock canister, through the Cat water separator (10 micron I believe), and finally the 2 micron secondary filter. If you saw the size of the 0749, it won't have any trouble pulling duty on a 5. 9; it's 3 times the size of the stock filter. For the LP, I'm...

    Engine-mounted Cat 2 micron/water separator

Thought I'd post some pics and part numbers from my new fuel filter setup. Using a Cat water separator and 2 micron filter, and cat bases mounted to a custom bracket. It was a bit of a trick to fit both filters under the intake, but it works. Fortunately it's easy to remove the inner fender well...

    Subtle grinding from G56 transmission.

I first changed mine around 25k... magnet looked very similar to yours. The particles were very tiny, they just looked bigger. Replaced with Amsoil universal ATF. Changed again 50k, not as many particles, went back with Redline C+ ATF. Amsoil and Redline gave a little better shift performance...

Walbro, remote dual filter install w/ pics

Sorry to bring this back from the dead, but I'm wondering what size fittings these filter bases use? TSPowell, do you remember the tread type and size? I'm working on a similar project, but can't find the fitting size...

2007 5.9 who loves them who dont.

Love it. Only issue so far is a front pinion seal. It has its quirks, and wish I had the AE ratios, but very glad I bought it. Plan on running it for a long time...

That would be sweet. I don't really have a need for the fast coolers, plus I already have Geno's filter kit on one side...

    G56 pic

Anybody have a side view pic or diagram of a G56 with the pto cover removed? I want to make for dang sure I don't have clearance issues with the temp sensor. Hoping to have the bung welded in the extra cover prior to upcoming service at 50k. Gauges going in soon... Oo. Thanks,
