    Single Turbo Recommendations

Not sure on the other vendor but I know HighTech will really work with you and your existing turbo if you decide to do future upgrades. They’ll swap compressor housings, wastegates, compressor/exhaust wheels, etc. and it’ll save you some $$ in the long run. I’ve been thoroughly impressed with...

    Air Bag Control

I did similarly as a few others did here. I already had the compressor from my pac brake, bought the pac brake bags and wanted in cab controls but didn't want to run lines into the cab. So, I went with Firestone's wireless control kit (Firestone Wireless Air Command - Digital Gauge w/...

    19.5 Tire Users..........

I run 285 Toyo M608Z tires in the load range H flavor on my 04 2500. I've put about 5000 miles on them since I had them installed on my Vision wheels last Thanksgiving. So far, I love them. They howl a little at hwy speeds (less than my old Toyo MT's did) and they do fairly well offroad. Tread...

Has your truck ever left you stranded?

I fell victim to the dreaded lift pump. It died on me while I was towing my rock crawler to go wheeling. Luckily I was only about 2 miles away from the campsite at the trail head. I managed to get to the campsite, wheel all weekend and then had a buddy tow my trailer/rig home and got a flatbed...

    Single Turbo Recommendations

I've got a 62/65/14 HTB2 in my 04 and it has performed FLAWLESSLY. My rig dyno'd out at 520/983 on my stock injectors and CP3. I tow/haul fairly heavy (with truck camper, flat bed car hauler and '77 K5 and gear I'm at around 23k GVW) and I wanted something that would spool well and not run too...

How long have your factory batteries lasted?

Mine lasted about 4. 5 years..... until one day the battery on the passenger side decided to blow up and spew what was left of it's internals all over my engine compartment while towing home from a weekend at Pismo:mad:. Thankfully it just stained the underside of the hood, exhaust manifold...

    Pacbrake with Sliver Bullet?

When I installed my HTT 62/65/14 turbo on my truck I had to not only clock the compressor housing on the turbo I ended up having to trim a little off the end of the bracket that holds actuating arm on the pac brake. It's a tight fit but it works. I might be able to clear a little bit bigger...

    Rickson 19.5 wheels

Sradke-According to Rickson's website (and other sources online) the Visions have a load rating of 4500lbs not 4000. Additionally, the 285' should fit on the Visions as they are a 7. 5” wide wheel and that's what's required for a 285. Thanks for all the input guys. Based on the research...

    Rickson 19.5 wheels

For your SRW guys that went with the Vision wheels how have you liked them? Do they throw a lot of mud/debris/rocks up on your truck because they stick out further? Was it very noticeable on how much over stock wheels that they stuck out? Was it a big adjustment going to the 19. 5 tire/wheel...

2 gauges off of 1 thermocouple?

Well, I'm going to do as some of you have suggested and do side by side runs to see what if any temp difference the gauges read with both of them connected to thermo. If it's substantial... . I'll have to go to plan "B". As far as getting the pipe plug out of the pacbrake cast elbow...

    2007, 5.9, G56, 4X4...Which clutch the best?

I just got my 3250 DD with hydro upgrade installed on Tuesday. So far (only put about 75 miles on it) the pedal pressure feels the same as stock. It is a little noisy while in neutral or while in gear and coasting or off the throttle but not so noisy that it's annoying... . it's simply louder...

2 gauges off of 1 thermocouple?

Why won't it read correctly? Different thermocouple calibration for each gauge? Or because I'd have two gauges off of one thermocouple?

2 gauges off of 1 thermocouple?

Anyone know if I can use one thermocouple to run two EGT gauges? One would be a dipricol EGT gauge and the other would be the EGT function on my TST R49AP. The thermocouple I’d be using would be the one that came with the dipricol gauge but I could swap it out for the TST thermocouple if...

    pacbrake prxb

Air lines definitely stay in place. That's what runs the whole system. You should have air lines going from the compressor to the tank, compressor to the brake assembly and from the compressor to the compressor air intake. If needed, I can postup some pics of my setup.

    Overcharging?

Yes, my charging wiring/system is 100% stock... so I guess there's not isolator. I'm going to remove the passenger side battery and clean and redo all connections to it as when the old battery died it spewed it's contents EVERYWHERE in the engine compartment and for all I know it might've...

    Overcharging?

I tested the voltage with a hand held multimeter at the battery posts while at idle. I'll test them again later this week and post up the EXACT results. I'll also test it at the alternator itself. Where is the battery temperature sensor located? Is there a way I can test that? I didn't...

    Overcharging?

Sorry it wasn't clear in my first post. I replaced both batteries with Optima's so I haven't mixed the two types and I also didn't replace them till AFTER my trip to Pismo. Is the PCM the same as the ECM which is mounted on the side of the engine?

    Overcharging?

I’ve done a little searching on here but haven’t found the exact answer to my question…maybe you guys can help out. What is the MAX charging voltage I should see? I suspect that my rig may be overcharging. I measured it at the passenger side battery last weekend and it was over 15 volts but...

Off Roading Looking for gear work in SF bay area......

Well, I’d definitely agree with Bayshore…. I wouldn’t recommend a Detroit in a daily driven vehicle. It doesn’t have the best street manners and would be a handful in wet weather. I’ve got detroits in both axles on my rock crawler…. but that’s a different story completely. I’d recommend either a...

Off Roading Looking for gear work in SF bay area......

If you're still looking for a shop try these: 1. WFO Concepts in Auburn WFO Concepts Great shop, I went to college with the owner. They built my Dana 60 for my rock crawler. 2. Pacific Fabrication in Morgan Hill Pacific Fabrication The owner and his lead mechanic are very close friends...
