'19 Ram 3500 Air Suspension: Code 15E4-97; Right Rear Spring

The EVIC on our '19 Ram 3500 popped up with the comment "Perform Service" My code reader says: "Air Suspension: Code 15E4-97 (1/1) Stored Right Rear Spring Exhaust Component or System Operation Obstructed or Blocked" I thought the ride was a bit harsh recently, which could be the result of an...

Aisin Transmission Service → Throws P0868 code

OK, snapping the filter into the transmission by pushing up firmly under the filter was the trick. Once again, it spit out the P0868 code enough to trip the CEL and create a permanent code as well as shifting harshly for a while even after over 10 minutes of idling before shifting out of N...

Aisin Transmission Service → Throws P0868 code

That's what I did originally for exactly that reason. However, when I fired it up this morning, got a code, cleared it and immediately got the code again, I simply drove it onto the ramps and pulled the plug, had breakfast and then pulled the pan. Yeah, made a bit of a mess. On reassembly, I...

Aisin Transmission Service → Throws P0868 code

Hmm. Drained the oil, pulled the pan & filter. Found nothing amiss. The filter was in place and well engaged in the housing, and all the wiring connections secure and none out of place or pinched.

Aisin Transmission Service → Throws P0868 code

Yeah, I have a large piece of cardboard for that, however the creeper and the cardboard don't talk nicely to each other.

Aisin Transmission Service → Throws P0868 code

Thanks, I'll have to check that out. Historically, a kitchen trash can full of GreaseSweep (aka Kitty Litter) has been my go-to method for decades.

Aisin Transmission Service → Throws P0868 code

It's difficult to say for certain at this point. I did lube it with ATF before installing the filter, and it seemed to snap in OK. I'm seriously considering taking it back down tomorrow.

Aisin Transmission Service → Throws P0868 code

Quite true, although the preponderance of Google leads involved things that I never touched.

Aisin Transmission Service → Throws P0868 code

Anything is possible. However, as you noted, all I did was drain the ATF, lower the pan, remove the 3 bolts retaining the filter. drain that ATF, install the new filter, and reinstall the pan. Nothing along the way fought me in any way; it's a simple job albeit a bit messy.

Aisin Transmission Service → Throws P0868 code

Yesterday I serviced the Aisin transmission in my 2019 Ram 3500 HO; changing the fluid. pan gasket and filter. I carefully measured the old Mobil 3309 ATF (8 qts 1.5 pts) and installed the same amount. After a minute or so of idling, I shifted back and forth between Park/Neutral and...

“CUMMINS AGREES TO PAY $1.67 BILLION..."

I have a number of concerns about this. 1. The announcement was made on a Friday. The government has a well established policy of releasing news in its favor on Mondays and new that it would rather be buried on Friday. Since this was released on a Friday, I have to believe that the...

    Engine stumbles off idle

Great news! I called the local dealership and was lucky enough to get an appointment for the following day to troubleshoot the problem. The service writer talked to the tech about my issues, and the tech also thought the CP4 pump could be the cause of my truck's stumbling. Another customer...

    Engine stumbles off idle

The fuel tank is full. It rarely gets below 1/4 tank. FWIW, I have a 50 gal auxiliary tank that transfers fuel to the main tank via a pump and dedicated fuel filter. I doubt it's the air filter. I inspected it two weekends ago, just before pulling our 14,000# 5th wheel 600 miles to Idaho...

    Engine stumbles off idle

My engine has been stumbling a bit when I ease into the throttle after idling. My normal driving style is to ease into the throttle vs. stepping on it. If I do step on it to accelerate quickly, then it behaves normally, albeit with the usual lag. But, if I accelerate gently from idle, the...

    Air ride 5th wheel hitches

We've got the 5th Airborne pin box on the trailer and a fixed PullRite Super 5th hitch in the truck. It's a very nice combination & plenty good enough for normal highways. But I think we'll get a TrailerSaver for the truck before our next trip to the Arctic. We did 3000 miles off pavement in...

    Question, 2010 power

The combination of 3. 42 axle and 35" tires makes for the equivalent of a 2. 91 rear axle. No wonder the truck is doggy. Our last truck had 3. 73 gears and 35" tires and it was a pig compared to the two previous trucks running 3. 73 gears and 32" tires.

WTW running boards or bars for a megacab dually?

We've got WTW step bars on our 2010 crewcab longbed. I thought that was the same frame length, so the bar length might be correct. They are 4" diameter S/S made by Iron Cross. We got ours from them from UltimateTruck. Not sure how well they would work under the dually flared fenders.
