Try changing the crank position sensor. Likely it's the issue if never changed. I had a similar issue.

I went ATS with no regrets. I've had some electrical issues, but not the transmission's fault. It's inherent in a 2nd generation - electrical gremlins due to electrical noise. Thing is solid, no leaks, and the service from the shop that installed it is great. A lot of folks bad mouth them, but I'm happy.

Fixed!!! Shop says diode in ATS wire harness failed. They took it out -presto runs like ATS new!

HELP! '00 4x4' ATS Stage 2 transmission installed @ 2 years and 30,000 miles ago. ATS shop replaced gov transducer and solenoid they said @ 2months ago when transmission was in what appeared to be limp mode - stuck in 3rd gear. Fixed and ran great. Need advice please. Just ordered new 2012 DRW 3500 4x4. I asked for 4. 10 gears but all I plan to tow is our 35' toy hauler, weighs 8735, empty. I won't tow but occasionally. Anyone think I should go with 3. 73's instead? I'd like to get decent mileage when not towing... . thanks.

If it's leaking or bad, or looks bad - I recommend go with the Borgeson. I replaced my '00 box and the steering is a world apart from the stock box! Very tight ratio too, makes for fun/tight driving... easy to replace.

I got 1/2" longer arms from DT out of Arizona. Great stuff and the owner was well versed on the issues with this rubbing deal. You may also consider just rebuilding your front suspension - I did mine (not cheap!) - but I hope to get another couple of years out of my '00. Good luck. '00 Quad...

Steering woes I strongly suggest the Borgeson box. I bought mine from Geno's and I'm impressed and it took me about an hour or less to replace it. I believe my truck drives/steers better than new. Can't beat the warranty, and certainly can't beat the drive feel! At speed, it has plenty of road...

You've likely got a leak. Batteries and A/C not working, is not related. Check the charge, bet you're low and the low cut off won't let the system run - especially after sitting all winter! I have an '00 and I filled it with a fix-a-leak I got from NAPA. Worked like a charm. Lasts almost 2...

I've rebuilt the frontend on my '00 with new ball joints, tie rod ends, aftermarket trac bar, free-spin hubs, etc. But the one thing that made the most difference is that I replaced my steering box with the new Delphi offered by Geno's. Wow - truck drives and steers GREAT! Highly recommend this.
