    265/70/17? 285/70/17? 285/75/17? Thoughts?

I run 265's. I had 295's and was getting 15mpg. I went back to 265's and now get 19. 5 on the Hwy and 17. 8 driving locally. Big tires look cool and bad *** no doubt but at over $4 per gal I cant afford that kind of cool!!!

What kind of mpg gains have you guys seen from a free spin kit?

I have had the Dynatrac system in my truck for over a year. I would say 1. 5mpg is what I achieved . I also did my ball joints and brakes and installed a steering box brace. the steering is 100% better. No wandering and very responsive. Yes this system is $$$$. But the payoff is the upgrade to...

Dyantrac free spin / Carli Ball Joint Install

I noticed a 1mpg increase if I am on cruise at a consistent 65mph with no head winds or stop and go. I think keeping the RPM below 2 grnd helps

    Dynatrac vs. Spyntech

The Dynatrac hubs stick out the least of all the kits. UNLESS you get deep rims and or put spacers behind the rims then its a mute points

    Flying J to Bio Blend

I plan on using Bio diesel on my next trip. I found a site that shows all the retail outlets that sell it. Only 3 in Montana. Lots in Oregon, Washington, and Idaho. What gives Montana! I would think there would be more bio diesel use in your state

    265/70/17? 285/70/17? 285/75/17? Thoughts?

I run 265/70/17 on my rig. They do look small but I get better mpg. I was running 295's and hey it looked cool but was costing me in gas. Seems the truck likes the 265's better

    Dynatrac vs. Spyntech

I installed the Dynatrac kit last June and have put over 5K on it with no complaints. Great product and customer support. They dont stick out as much as the Spintec kit but if you dont care and want to save some $$$$ then go with Spyntec as they are good quality. I also did my ball joints when I...

2nd Gen Non-Engine/Transmission Well fuel is headed towards $5

the oil companies are not going to flood the market with oil for patriotic reasons or to help Americans have cheaper gas and diesel. Every day that goes by there is less oil world wide and we are being outbid as ESwartzer stated by commodity brokers and by demand from China and India. If you...

2nd Gen Non-Engine/Transmission Well fuel is headed towards $5

Drilling here and drilling now wont solve our oil dependency problem or drive down the price of diesel or gas. Do you really think the oil companies will lower their price. the Asian demand for crude will keep the price of a barrel of oil high. Dont for an instance think that oil drilled in the...

2nd Gen Non-Engine/Transmission Well fuel is headed towards $5

the reason I bought a Diesel over a gas heavy duty truck was that with a diesel engine you have alternative fuels you can use with some modifications. What happened to Natural Gas!! Well if you live in Utah they have multiple outlets to fill up with natural gas. Here on the coast in Washington...

What fuel additives should I be using?

I read the above mentioned study on fuel additives and have since switched to the #2 rated additive Opti-Lube and will use it for a while and see if I get improved mpg or performance. I dont have access to Bio-diesel in my area. I have a small ticking sound in my engine that seems to be...

    Need help with ball joints

I bought the truck used last year with 48k on it. It now has 72k. I think the ball joints were OEM and not after market. the calipar bolts had red anti-seize on them and were hard to get off but the hubs had been anti seized but not with very much. the steering knucle came right off from the...

    Need help with ball joints

Hi J. Hey the use a bigger hammer method works. What I did was take an old socket and placed it over the bolt and smacked it with a 5lb sledge. Popped off on the second smack. I went over to the drivers side and the biggest problem I had was with the caliper bolts. I broke my last extension on...

    Need help with ball joints

Thanks for chiming in with your info. I usually dont use the big hammer approach but it looks like it may be an option I need to explore. I will try it and let you know what I came up with. I am going to a rental company to get a ball joint press and will also get their pickle fork. We use to...
