    2nd Gen Non-Engine/Transmission Clunk

Thanks for the idea. I looked under there with the tires turned all the way and nothing hits or touches anything. Its just weird this started happening after the new steering shaft. Unless its always been going on and I couldn't feel it through the worn out shaft?

    2nd Gen Non-Engine/Transmission Clunk

Over the last 6 months to a year my truck has had pretty much every front end part replaced. Everything from balljoints, axle seals, tie rod ends, 3rd gen track bar conversion, shocks, redhead box, sway bar end links, and a steering box brace. I recently replaced the stock steering shaft with a...

    Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) Beware of Air Dog/Raptor Lift Pumps

I have been hearing more and more about the Airdogs failing. From what I have read its the new ones with the quick disconnect fittings. I have had mine for 4 years and it has the old JIC push-lock fittings and I have had zero issues. 21PSI at idle and 18 at WOT. Do you have the one with the...

    Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) zddp additives

I just did an oil analysis on my rig. 5k change interval with Valvoline Premium Blue CJ-4. The report shows 1263 PPM of zinc. Is this not considered high enough? I've been reading about the older CI-4 oils and while they aren't readily available I would like to know how many PPM of zinc a CI-4...

Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) Fuel Injector Life and Starter Contacts Image

My rig has just under 170k and its starting to haze at idle when cold. If its around 30 degrees out and hasn't been plugged it will lope like a big block for a few seconds. Buddy who owns a diesel shop says its a sign of the injectors starting to get tired. Who knows, I wouldn't mind some bigger...

    Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) Need ECM for 2002 HO 6sp

Yes the Edge was never taken off. Still run it on 3x3 every day.

    Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) Need ECM for 2002 HO 6sp

My ECM went out on my 02 HO as well. About 8 months ago. I researched all over the web and every thing I read about ECM rebuilders was a horror story and the person ended up buying a new one afterwards. I had my service shop get a new one from cummins and install it. They had dodge program it to...

    Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) Skip / stumble under load

I had a similar issue. Had it in the shop because I couldn't figure it out. At first they thought it was the APPS but that was new so they ruled that out. Then it dawned on them the owner of the shop who has the same truck as me had the same issue as me years ago. That was it. It was the ECM. I...

    Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) 24-Valve Love

It started for me back in 02 when my buddies dad bought his 02 CTD H. O. 6 speed. I loved the way it looked and sounded. Every time I was over at their house I wanted to look at it. I told myself I'd buy one once I could afford one. Finally 3 years ago I bought the exact same truck as my buddies...

    2nd Gen Non-Engine/Transmission Thermostat

I've used both the NAPA stat and the Cummins stat. The NAPA stat is just a regular looking stat. The Cummins one is much beefier and from what I have read seem to last quite a bit longer. There are lots of people who have had good luck with the NAPA stat and others will only use the Cummins...

    2nd Gen Non-Engine/Transmission K & N Strikes again!

Not to change the subject... How are the BHAF? I noticed a bunch of companies make them. Do you run one with an outerware? I've got an S&B intake in my rig now I'm thinking about ditching. I've read lots of stories like this and I think the dry filters are probably the best protection. I'd have...

    Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) Recomended ECM Rebuilder

No re-builders that I know of. Safest thing is to dole out the cash. I just paid 1550 for a new one installed. $150 was for labor. It was brand new from Cummins.

    Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) NV5600 magnets

Darn! I thought I read they were on both PTO covers. I never thought about looking down in the bottom of the trans... not sure why must have had a moment! Oh well now I know for next time.

    Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) NV5600 magnets

Thats how much I filled it with before and it was leak free. I've read stories of people putting 8+ quarts in these transmissions to ensure the rear bearing gets plenty of lubrication.

    Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) NV5600 magnets

I changed my fluid today in my NV5600. I also pulled the PTO covers off thinking I read somewhere there are magnets on the back of those that are good to clean. I pulled both and found no magnets, cleaned the old RTV off put new RTV on and bolted them back on. Am I imagining that I read there to...

    Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) Fleetguard LF3894 -- Made in Inda

I noticed that too last week when I changed my oil. I recall there being a thread on this maybe it was on a different forum I can't remember. I might be switching too. Where are the Baldwins made?

    Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) fluidamper

Ive been meaning to buy one for a while. How did you get such a good price? Whats the install like on a manual trans?

    Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) Air Dog Rapter

Ive had great luck with my Air Dog 150. I know a couple buddies of mine bought the same unit and have great results.

    Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) 2001 fuel tank module

Ive got a liberty module in my rig from Vulcan. It works great. I believe there are options on how they can build it for you. Why don't you want a "giant draw straw?" I saw 2 PSI more in fuel pressure when I put mine in... . just curious.
