    1st 500 miles towing @ 50mph max.? Really?

I had, and took, the time to break my gears in properly. The dealer even gave the truck to me as a "Loaner" for two days, so I could break it in before towing my 5ver home. I figured why not, since I had the time and opportunity.

'12 Ram 2500, good buy or no?

Well Nick, I'll find out next month what the fees look like

2012 6.7L Truck any good? Help!

I had my 2010 3500 for 8 years towing my 5th wheel without a single emissions problem.

'12 Ram 2500, good buy or no?

I paid a weight fee, but I don't recall anything about a motor carrier tax. I certainly didn't claim the 30,100 lb. max tow rating. :)

    2018 RAM

OK then. Let's see if I can get this thread back on track. I agree that leaving it stock is best with these new trucks. And I keep the mirrors up out of convenience, or laziness, since I primarily only drive the truck when I'm towing the 5th wheel and don't want to have to re-adjust the main...

    2018 RAM

I agree that leaving it stock is best with these new trucks. And I keep the mirrors up out of convenience, or laziness, since I primarily only drive the truck when I'm towing the 5th wheel and don't want to have to re-adjust the main mirrors every time I change the position, that and I would...

    2018 RAM

The 5th wheel is not hitched in the pic I posted. It sits level when it is hitched. If you look at my avatar pic, you can see how it rides when it is hitched. This rig has a little over 6k load rating and 30k towing. Hopefully more than I will ever need.

    2018 RAM

Well, this is a bit of a delayed post. I traded my 2010 SRW 3500 for a 2018 DRW Max Tow last March . What a difference.

    Considering an RV purchase

Well said. The wife and I are planning on retiring in about 6 years and full timing. Until then we go to the forest/desert, visit family or just travel to places we haven't been to yet just to get out and enjoy our RV. We are on our second rig. First was 24' travel trailer and current is 36'...

    Towing an empty toy hauler

I have a 5th wheel toy hauler (in signature) and I run empty with the tires at the recommended pressure of 110 PSI. I also changed from the stock 235/80 R16 to Sailun brand 235/85 R16 and new wheels with a proper higher PSI rating. The new tires have a higher load rating, the original tires were...

    2012 oil change interval

I have never seen the "change oil" message on my Ram. It still has less than 40k on the clock so I change the oil about once a year instead of basing it on mileage. I go through the reset procedure when I do the service, maybe that's why I never get the message.

    Regeneration question

If you ever get an Edge Insight (Reader only, not programmer) it will show when the truck is in regen.

Ram 1500 EcoDiesel VS Ford F150 EcoBoost to pull a 7600 lb Airstream

I had a 2005 F-150 when we bought our travel trailer. The trailer was within the "tow rating" of the Ford, but somebody forgot to tell the Ford. It was well on its way to failure. That's how I ended up as a member here with my signature truck. Now the upgrade to a fifth wheel will not be a...

2 Low with the new electric front axle CAD

I have the ST "Tradesman" trim with the floor shifter. I'm considering Spyntec hubs, I know they're expensive, which should give my 2 low on demand.

    Suggestions for 5th wheel hitch

I plan on giving it a very thorough inspection before I sign anything. If there are any problems, I will make them fix it or walk away.

    Suggestions for 5th wheel hitch

This is the 5th wheel we're buying: https://www.campingworld.com/rvsales/Fifth-Wheel-Toyhauler/2011/Heartland-Cyclone/457991 We're getting it for less than advertised price plus free delivery to our "local" dealer and the hitch deal from my previous post.

    Suggestions for 5th wheel hitch

Made an offer on a used 5th wheel toy hauler at Camping World. They are having it shipped to their Flagstaff (Bellemont) shop from their Anthony TX shop. They're not charging me for the transport and are giving me an 18k B&W Patriot slider, installed, for $500. The trailer is a 2011 Heartland...
