IT COULD. But sounds as if the ecm does not know that you are asking for throttle. Check connection at tps and at the ecm, make sure that the 50 pin connector is not loose.

Friend with 06 auto wants to change to a nv5600. Will it physically fit the space? He found a 5600 with all the parts and t case. Any thoughts? What are some of the major stumbling blocks? Thanks in advance.

Try holding up on the brake pedal, this will see if brake light switch is bad.

I agree with above post. Mine required 1 hour but had to fix faulty wiring while there.

The main harness runs along the driver side frame rail. If you have a plug in the bed for a gooseneck or fifth wheel check the connection, on mine PO used cheap connection with no cover or tape.

Pete I feel your pain. Spent last three months fighting a short in the wiring to the oil sensor. It would cause an over boost code, after fixing that my left turn signal would blow the fuse. Found where PO had wired into the main wire with cheap connection. Don't give up.

I have never had a 1689 but have had the 216 four times and it turned out to be a loose connection that was shutting down the lift pump. Check the big connection on the firewall the one with the white bale. The bale must be to the left.

Better to get electronic flasher IMHO. The resistor adds load to the circuit to get flasher to work. Electronic one does not.

Check all connections. Sounds like the ecm does not know that you are asking for throttle. Make sure that the cam sensor is hooked up, it is just below the vp and might have got knocked loose. The cam is how the ecm knows that the engine is running. Also check the map sensor if it is not sending...

I agree with above post. I have a 5600 and tow a 6k travel trailer from Eastern Ohio. I use sixth in flat to rolling hills. I will down shift when rpm or temps warrant it.

This may sound dumb, have you checked/changed filter? Also check line from pump to filter to vp for restrictions. Sounds like a clog in a line somewhere. Not quitw the same but I was having trouble with water to my house good pressure at start then drop to nothing. Found that the line between...
