I have these issues with the truck:
1. batteries are drained after truck sits a few days.
2.remote key fob only works with key in run position.
3.when doors are opened, no overhead lights until key is in run position.
4.door lock switch will not operate door locks unless key is in run position...
Ozy: I replaced the ignition switch, no help. also not working correctly are the 4-way hazard flashers, they only work with the ignition in run position, any help or ideas are appreciated.
Thanks, Jim Alexander
my dodge electrics are puzzling me. below is a list of items that are ******* me off.
1.REMOTE KEY FOB ONLY WORKS WHEN IGNITION IS ON.
2.
WHEN DOOR IS OPENED, OVERHEAD LIGHT DOES NOT COME, UNTIL KEY IS TURNED TO RUN POSITION
3.DOOR LOCK SWITCH ON DRIVERS SIDE DOOR WILL...
I have done some further investigation, and found that the door locks do work both with the driver side door switch, and the keyfob, when the key is on. I think this rules out the keyfob, and the receiver. I am afraid it is the instrument cluster. Any ideas appreciated!
You are correct! If I place the truck in "1", it starts off normally, I then move to "2", then "3". all ok. But it is apparently not downshifting. Any ideas on what causing this.
Much appreciate the info. Thanks, Jim alexander
Help in Houston, tx. My 2004 5.9 stock, with 48re trans is slipping. Seems to work ok after it shifts to 2,3,4. Does anyone know a good trans shop in Houston?
my mil lamp came on after fueling and driving a few miles. I don't have a drb 3 code reader so that is out. truck is running good, mileage is about the same at 22+mpg. thanks to anyone who may help, J.Alexander
I am getting spurious chimes when I hit a bump in the road. I am told the only way to troubleshoot this is with a DRB-III scan tool. Very expensive and hard to find. Anyone have any experience with this problem?
