2nd Gen Non-Engine/Transmission Time for control arms

Thanks JM I hit them this afternoon with PB. Nice being in the SW as rust is usually not a problem. Received the control arms from Hell Bent yesterday and noticed the super quality as soon as I opened the box! Man are these things BEEFY......1 1/2 steel rod , drilled and threaded for the ends...

2nd Gen Non-Engine/Transmission Time for control arms

Have purchased upper and lower control arms from Hell Bent steel. For the buck, they looked better designed than BDs and I'm curious if anyone has replaced theirs and what to expect when doing the job. (ugh) Would their be tension on the axle? Is there a sequence to follow? If I keep the same...

    Engine/Transmission (1994 - 1998) Rattlesnake in my turbo?

Well, sounds like it.....I have Industrial Injection Phatshaft with about 3k miles on it and lately have some serious noise and choking as I give it throttle. Happens mainly when I shift into 5th gear and I'm at 45 mph giving it throttle. Literally sounds like a mean *** rattlesnake, then as I...

2nd Gen Non-Engine/Transmission Borgeson steering box swap

Here's my dime. . . . Borgeson box upgrade and shaft 2 years ago. I had a local mechanic ( also knew him well) do the work, as I was too busy with my remodeling buisness. Got the truck back the same day and really liked the improvement! Well, 3 days later, hauling my 12' work trailer to work at...

    Engine/Transmission (1994 - 1998) AFC housing gasket

Looking for a source for an AFC housing gasket, I think it's silicone. It looks like a big O ring only big and oval like. Would any one know where to purchase one?

    Engine/Transmission (1994 - 1998) aire in fuel

If you are still stock, there are several banjo fuel fittings. They are round and bulbous looking on the fuel lines. There are 2 on top of your fuel filter, just follow the fuel lines. On the left goes to the P pump, there is one there. The right line off the filter goes to a double connection...

    Engine/Transmission (1994 - 1998) aire in fuel

Don't know what type of sealing washers go with your fuel lines, but stock banjo fittings need to have new copper washers installed whenever you remove them. Make sure they are clean and no engine grit on the surfaces when you install them.

    4X4 Dually in the snow

Here in NM the moisture content of the snow isn't great, I could fill the bed full and wouldn't weigh much, so I buy "sacrificial" 80 lb bags of Quickcrete at Home Depot. They harden up by the time I don't need them anymore, then I unload them at the recycling center. Have also thought of...

    Engine/Transmission (1994 - 1998) 3k gov spring woes

    S. O. B. !!!!!!!! ata. . . . Thought I would update you on my adjustment. I loosened the nuts and started to go to the spring and do 2 clicks as you had mentioned, but after 2 clicks there was still 3/16 " or less to the top of bolt. Odd... . . . so I decided to pull all the springs and new...

    Engine/Transmission (1994 - 1998) 3k gov spring woes

ata. . . . . sounds good. I'll go back to "square one" and start over with more attention to getting them even. It was hard to get a consistent reading with the vernier calipers and I might have taken the best of 6 readings as good. I'll be under the hood after 1st cup of coffee in the morning...

    Engine/Transmission (1994 - 1998) 3k gov spring woes

Well decided to install 3k gov springs this weekend. . . . I should have gone somewhere to have fun! The install went okay, got the old springs and shims out and new in without loosing parts, and with a pair of needle nose pliers I got the nuts tightened to . 060 just as the stock ones read on...

2nd Gen Non-Engine/Transmission Runs sluggish after new injectors

No, had the same situation with the stock turbo also, wouldn't spool up. I noticed my idle dropped almost 100 rpms when I first started up with new injectors. Idles at 800 rpms now. . . . I'm going to clean the air filter tomorrow. . . . gotta start somewhere :-)

2nd Gen Non-Engine/Transmission Runs sluggish after new injectors

no. . . . I installed injectors first. . . . I get moderate smoke when petal is to the metal, but turbo won't spool up until 2000 -2200 rpms. Bummer, no power until I don't need it! thanks, Gary

2nd Gen Non-Engine/Transmission Runs sluggish after new injectors

Thanks for the input Sray! I can see the injectors might have a higher pop off point . . . . guess i'll check fuel pressure next. New Industrial Injection 6270 turbo installed last week with 72 compressor wheel . Just gotta fuss, fit and adjust

2nd Gen Non-Engine/Transmission Runs sluggish after new injectors

Sray. . . . . smokes very little. Have played with the star wheel a little and had a lot of smoke, but still the same sluggishness, so I backed it off.

2nd Gen Non-Engine/Transmission Runs sluggish after new injectors

Well, the 75 hp injectors from DDP I've had in the tool box for a year finally got installed. Didn't expect the 12 valve to run so sluggish!!! My dog has more gitty up. Turbo lights up around 1900 /2000 rpms and then she'll go! Stock injectors with #11 fuel plate lit the turbo just fine at 1700...

    Engine/Transmission (1994 - 1998) Turbo oil return flange won't fit new turbo

Need some help with this one. . . . . Just installed a 6270 Phatshaft turbo from Industrial Injection and looked like a true bolt on, but the oil return pipe flange does not fit the turbo. Just can't get that puppy to line up the top flange and bottom connection to oil pan. The pipe hits the...

Air Dog 165 priming problem....Anybody got an opinion?

After a year of great performance, my Dog is very slow to prime at 1/2 tank of fuel. When the tank is full, it snaps to attention and gets to 28 psi by the time I let go of the ignition key. I've checked all tank connections and am starting to think I should get rid of the quick connect and go...
