    Which RV?

@ RUSSELL5000 Check the bed arrangement. It looks like there is very limited side access, so making it will be a chore, and overnight exit and entry may be an issue. Full walk around should likely be on your list. I believe Ron Nash makes all their frames, which sets them aside from those...

    death of the diesel truck

"Also, nothing quite like an alder smoked happy sturgeon..." Back about 1966 a housemate studying fisheries showed up with several cases of Columbia River Smoked Sturgeon. Holy Simoleans, was that good. Then the guys down the road started smoking silvers, and the house went bear hunting and...

    death of the diesel truck

The problem is that there will not be the electric supply to fuel them, in that time frame.

    What’s up with UPS?

We are in a remote area, dirt roads, no streetlights. UPS was reliable until this year. Now they come at 7pm and deliver my stuff to the neighbor on a road behind us, different name road, different address. That lady brings it by a day or so later, rings the bell, says in merry Mexican accent...

Good weekend in Prince William Sound

Good for you. We are stuck in AZ instead of the usual summer on the Kenai. Maybe next year. Enjoy it. With few visitors, it might begin to feel like the '70's.

    Generator recommendation

About 40 years ago Anchorage had a program to install a natural gas generator for your home as winter electrical power had outages due to transmission lines and storms. It had the transfer switch to cover the safety issues. It may make sense as wind is not usually a factor for gas lines. One...

    Stagecoach Etiquette 1877

That is really cool and neat. And some good advice for today in winter, no matter what you travel in.

    Evaluation of Rig for Full-Time

OK, I have suggested looking at brokers/dealers who specialize in older MH. so here is another one. Country Coach is in the top tier of MH ever manufactured. http://www.premierrvservices.com/inventory/ is in Junction City OR, near Eugene. They have recent units and older ones. Also look in...

How to get transfer case to Neutral

Thank you very much. I was looking in the documents that came with the truck, a thin glossy book. I downloaded the complete manual, did not realize it was out there. Your help is very much appreciated.

How to get transfer case to Neutral

It tells how to shift from 2wd to 4h or 4l, NADA about going to Neutral, except to note the button. Sometimes it wants Drive at low speed, sometimes Neutral, but nothing about putting the transfer case in Neutral for towing.

How to get transfer case to Neutral

A 2012 with 4 position electronic transfer case. The Neutral button is there and the light flashes. How do I get the Transfer Case into Neutral for towing? Have tried pushing the button while engine on in both neutral and drive, with no result.

    Evaluation of Rig for Full-Time

Here is a Teton 5th, Volvo truck and smart car for $85,000 http://www.rvnetwork.com/index.php?showtopic=122001 There are some opportunities in the used market for quality units.

    Evaluation of Rig for Full-Time

Russell Look at the Bruss link, they downsized to get to smaller places. My experience is in the West and Alaska, and many Forest and Park and State spots won't take much more then a truck camper. I saw a creative solution the other day in Soldotna, AK, a 20+ year old Prevost conversion towing...

    Evaluation of Rig for Full-Time

Some Links you may find helpfull http://dmbruss.com/ Full timers with an informative web site. I believe they went from a 5th to a DP. http://www.jackdanmayer.com/ More good information. He prefers a Class 7 Volvo and a New Horizons 5th wheel http://www.rvnetwork.com/index.php?act=idx...

    Diesel Pusher Motorhome for Full-Time

I like Big Nasty's post above. There are motorhomes that are built like travel trailers with an engine, and there are motorhomes with a lot of structural integrity. For a quality 20 year old motorhome with something in the range of 100,000 miles the going price is likely in the $60,000 to...

    Diesel Pusher Motorhome for Full-Time

The Super C is an option, but not many out there in the pre emissions era. It started, it seems, as sort of a race car thing. For a 40' DP, 400hp should work if it has a single rear axle, 500 hp if it has a tag axle. Just loosely, a single rear axle should be around 38,000lbs and a tag could go...

Summer trip--Olympic National Park? Insights needed

http://www.bing.com/search?q=LaPush%2C+WA+RV+park This shows a number of parks in the area of LaPush and Forks. Salt Creek is a Clallam County Park on the bluff above the Stait off Hwy 112 with some great views. It is about 75 miles from LaPush to Port Angeles, so you may want to move camp...

    New Snoking Laramie

My 2012 has a stuttering problem trying to move a 15,000lb trailer up a 6%+ grade from a dead stop. The truck is quite nice and capable, but the stuttering is a concern that may prompt an upgrade. Snoking, that is one fine looking truck. Enjoy Arizona. We are rainbirds, summer in Alaska and...
