RAM HD Federal Emissions Warranties Info

The Verbage in the book for my 14 was a little contradictive as it called out all SCR components under the 5/50k section. But under the 8/80k section it mentioned all catalysts. My SCR cat was replaced under T05 recall.

    Drag link weld question (sorry!)

I live in a very rural part of northern Ohio. The roads heave and buckle every year from the freeze/thaw cycles and the fix for our fiscally poor county is cold patch. Lots of cold patch. I agree. Which is why I perform periodic checks on steering and suspension components which are far...

    Drag link weld question (sorry!)

I've often wondered the same. Of the 3 vehicles I currently own, 110k miles, 145k miles, 188k miles, I've never had an alignment done on any.

    68rfe 1-2 shift issues

If you drop the pan make sure to give the accumulator plate a good look. It will be on the side of the valve body. The pressure from the accumulators push the screws out, bend the plate, etc. It is a common weak point of the 68. If your trans is tuned with higher line pressures it's an even...

    Differential Lube

I use diesel rated 10w30 in all my small equipment. 2k+ hrs on my mower, I think I topped it off once last summer. Mowing season May - September with some leaf mulching in October. I mow ~ 7 acres.

    Differential Lube

Like engine oil brand matters less than it ever did. (Not that it really mattered to begin with) With the spec requirements and technology advancements they are more equal than ever. Ask a farmer or trucker (owner operator) or a contractor what they use. I can just about guarantee you you won't...

    Brake line part numbers

Most parts houses should have them. The good ones around here have thread checkers where you can bring your bolt/nut in and determine the thread. Or you can buy them fairly cheap. They're handy to have around the shop. https://a.co/d/2mhEbVY

    Brake line part numbers

A roll of copper nickel line is a lot cheaper. Super easy to work with. I know.some.of those lines you are working with are tight bends but with an appropriate sized bender you'll get them close enough. Just gotta watch the thread type on some of the nuts. I recall the abs unit on my Gen 2...

    7" EVIC change

What ebay seller did you source it from?

    7" EVIC change

What model carries the 7" EVIC? BigHorn? I am surprised the ability to change the odometer/engine hr reading is available like that.

    Coolant Low

If the coolant level is proper I'd look into the battery light. Low voltage causes all kinds of red herrings on my rig.

RAM truck is a battery eater

My Tradesman is about as bare bones as you can get including no key fob. If I don't keep a maintainer on it after about 2 -3 weeks I'll start getting various voltage related issues. The truck has always started, but I'll get things like service 4wheel drive system light, radio won't work, etc...

New gasoline 6.7 Cummins next year

Like the 7.2 I don't believe you'll see this in a pickup anytime soon, if ever. Both are a B series HELM platform aimed at vocational/commercial use. Total different application.

    U010E , U040F, and Limp Mode

Can I ask what was the cause of your repeated front driveline failures? Drive shaft or axle?

ZF Powerline for 2025 RAM HD Diesel

Very true. Probably the hardest engine I've ever seen on oil is a post VW diesel gate engine with the so called fix. They run so hot the coolant fan will cycle on and off several times after the engine is shut down. This using 5w30 oil at 10k intervals with 4.5 quart sump. The sustained...

ZF Powerline for 2025 RAM HD Diesel

Early B series were limited to 250 hr intervals. Crossing back over to highway engines, Assuming 30mph avg x 250hrs = 7500 miles, or the previous recommended oil change interval. See where this is going, 30 mph avg x 500 hrs = 15k miles. This is a conservative figure for most, in other words...

ZF Powerline for 2025 RAM HD Diesel

Guy lost me at "feeling" the lack of lubricity in the oil at 15k. LOL! He'd really stroke out seeing a QSB with 500 hard hours on the same oil. Or a DD8 with a factory interval of 60k miles.

    Cummins B7.2

    8.9 (L series) replaced the 8.3 C around 2010 ( I think.) It weighs over 1600 lbs.

    Heater grid bolt failure

I once looked up Gale's picture on Wikipedia and found this:D
