    Union 76 Renewable Diesel Fuel

Yeah 76 has done an absolutely horrible job with education and information at the pump! That sticker is basically just Ca fuel pump info regulations not being up to date with the latest fuels. Just be smart and know what you’re putting in!

    Union 76 Renewable Diesel Fuel

Your feedback on B99 is correct. Biodiesel can’t be run over 20% on any Cummins newer than 2007.5 and equipped with a DPF. These alternative fuels are NOT biodiesel however, and this thread is not about biodiesel. This thread is about HPR, R99 etc. I don’t know what else to write to answer...

    Union 76 Renewable Diesel Fuel

Biomassed based diesel and biodiesel are very different things chemically. Think of HPR and diesel as diesel, but just from a different source material. Unfortunately the signage required by the state doesn’t really reflect that since the lawmakers that require those at pump signs don’t...

    Hey where are you located?

    Union 76 Renewable Diesel Fuel

Nope I’m in Los Angeles and there’s stations down here! I typically go to the one in Long Beach.

    Union 76 Renewable Diesel Fuel

HPR is only available from select Propel stations in So Cal, which are usually tied to Shell stations. If you download the Propel app you can search for the nearest station! I love the stuff. Burns super clean, higher centane rating, higher lubricity, and way less smell. I run it in everything...

    Union 76 Renewable Diesel Fuel

Yeah 76 has done a horrible job providing literature or information of any kind on R99. I’ve logged thousands of miles using Propel HPR in my trucks with solid results. I’ve also been using plenty of 76 R99 and the truck runs great. Noticeably less smoke than ULSD and otherwise normal...

Anybody read/see a direct comparsion to 3/4 -1 ton diesels to the new 7.3 Ford gasser?

I have no issues pulling 20mpg highway in the 19+ Ram and Ford diesel powertrain trucks on 37s, but when you take the 7.3 Fords in the same situation, you’re fighting to get low teens. 7.3 liters of nattily aspirated gas engine makes for a hungry beast! I understand the application for fleet...

Time for a TDR article on "new" choices for Diesel Fuel

Posted a long reply in the original thread you made about it including a statement from Cummins!

    Union 76 Renewable Diesel Fuel

Just want to jump in since I’m seeing some mis-information here. Traditional Bio diesel and B20 blends and VERY different from 76’s R99 or HPR from Propel stations. Bio diesel is not compatible with emissions trucks (2007.5 and newer with DPFs) but R99 and HPR are. R99 and HPR are chemically...

Anybody read/see a direct comparsion to 3/4 -1 ton diesels to the new 7.3 Ford gasser?

I drive both frequently for work. The 7.3 Fords are cool, but I could never understand owning one. The fuel costs are absolutely absurd compared to a diesel, and they have less torque and power behind the wheel. Some people swear by them, but I could NEVER justify getting one when there are more...

shake vibration 65 to 75 mph

The best thing you can do is change things one item at a time so you work work through the truck via process of elimination. Start with shocks and see if that helps. If not, start chasing down any other play up front on the truck!

shake vibration 65 to 75 mph

Give this video a watch and run through the front end. Likely the source of your issue will present as a worn or tired front end joint/bushing. If it isn’t that, then driveshaft, u-joints and tires would be the next culprits. Tires are extremely common, and the easiest way to diagnose that is to...

    New Headlights and Tail lights

I think 5k is perfect. It’s a nice pure white light and that’s exactly what I went with on my truck! 6k is a little too blue for my liking. I have clear and amber lenses for my fog lights, so I just switch depending on the weather and season. If I know I’m going to be driving in dust or snow...

Uh oh, am I really that abrasive?? haha

    Steering wonder

What you're describing to me sounds like there's play in the front end, mixed with new ball joints. New joints are alway stick and don't return to center until they break in, and mixed with play in other parts of the steering, causes exactly what you're describing! I made this video that helps...

    New Headlights and Tail lights

If you like light output, I HIGHLY recommend getting a nice set of HID projectors done up. I went with custom retroshop HID projectors for my 2006 and it's been some of the best money I ever spent on the truck! Incredible light output and quality optics so the light is exactly where you need it...

    Brake Caliper/Rotor Replacement

I always do OEM rotors and then use a ceramic brake pad to keep rust down. It's been a good, proven combo for me! The OEM rotors last forever too.
