    Engine/Transmission (1994 - 1998) Help me tune the 12v in my Hummer H1

I stand corrected. I looked one of my 12 valve engines and I didn't have the serial number there. I believe it was the 24 valves that started this. I'm a technician at Cummins. With all the engines we have sometimes you forget some things.

I know this. But he said that he no tag for the ESN. This is an alternative location if the Dataplate is missing.

    Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) 1999 dodge 24 valve oil blow by

If a vacuum pump, you would think that it would blow oil out at anytime regardless of speed. With it being around the 65+ mph mark, you would think that a turbo, piston ring, or head gasket would be an issue. I have seen boost leaks do something similar. I'm not ruling out a vacuum pump though...

It couldn't hurt to replace the fuel filters and check the in tank pump.

It sounds like you either have a broken piston ring or a turbocharger failure. I've seen turbo's push oil or coolant out before. You need to check blow-by with a water manometer to see if you have excessive crankcase pressure. It's hard to diagnose a problem like this without being there to see...

Check on the top side of the oil cooler on the block. An ESN should be stamped there. Let me know what the number is if you can find it.

    Engine/Transmission (1994 - 1998) Head/Motor Overhaul advice needed

To tell what head gasket to use, measure piston protrusion. The spec for a non-machined block is 0.024 in - 0.028 in. If the block was machined already, it should be stamped. Usually stamped on the back top right of the block. Usually with one X or two X's.

    Etc cel

Going to have to hook up to it and get the codes. Then we start troubleshooting.

Archived Loss of everything in the middle of the road!

The pick up screen could be clogged in the fuel tank. What was the fuel level when this started occurring?

Sounds like a broke piston ring. Is their any excessive smoke? Check blow-by with a water manometer. What RPM does this happen at?

    Engine/Transmission (1994 - 1998) Cummins1942

Going to have to agree with BigPapa. The 12v head flows more air and exhaust. you would have to change the injectors and fuel lines. Technically if you were to change it over, the tappets are different and push rodes from a 12v to a 24v.

    Engine/Transmission (1994 - 1998) runs rough

Depending on fuel pump timing (which I'm assuming is still factory set), a bad grid heater could be an issue. if you had a leaking injector, the engine may not start or have a lot of black smoke when driving. Assuming an injector is leaking and not overfueling.

    Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) fuel return line upgrade?

70% of fuel is used to cool the injection pump and is returned back to the tank. Putting a larger return line will most likely not give you any major improvements. It may relieve some of the pressure build up in the injection pump. High horsepower trucks is another subject. Fuel return styles...

    2nd Gen Non-Engine/Transmission Alarm Issues

There should be a relay under your hood that is for the alarm system. You could remove the relay.

    2nd Gen Non-Engine/Transmission Nitto 420S 305/50/20

Ok performance diesel guys, im wanting to get some Nitto 420S for my 96 2500. I have a set of 20x12 Fuel Octanes that currently have Mickey Thompson ATZ 305/55/20 on them. These tires are terrible and ride horrible. I want better ride and more grip. The tires on there now rub a little when...

    Engine/Transmission (1994 - 1998) Timing cover gasket

Get the timing cover gasket from Geno's Garage. When you remove the timing cover you will need to replace the front crank seal anyways so pick one of those up at Geno's too. And if you haven't already, while your their fix that KDP. Isn't too hard of a job. Check your vacuum pump or oil pan too...
