    Trans Lines and disconnects

With more searching (this time using different keywords, and the help of a friend), I found a exact replacement for the disconnect....it is Dorman part number 800-701. I really didn't want to cut the line and retrofit a different fitting in there, at least not until the line needed replacement

    Trans Lines and disconnects

Hello Folks, I could use your help. I have a 1996 12v Today my original trans lines suffered a major leak which resulted in the stranding of the truck. I will need to do a good washdown of the underside and a refill/start/engage to track down the leak, but at a quick glance, it seems to be a...

    TPS Delete revisited...update

My guess is the potentiometer...

    Engine/Transmission (1994 - 1998) MPG drop-Time for injectors?

Something else I just thought of, because at my age, Im second guessing most everything i do :).... I did need to pull the vac pump/power steering assembly for a new power steering pump. I put new seals on the vac pump same time. Could I have got the gear timing off a tooth when re-installing...

    Engine/Transmission (1994 - 1998) MPG drop-Time for injectors?

Hello Folks, Happy New Year Awhile back I posted a question about injectors. At the time, based on responses, I held off replacing them. But now, I'm thinking its time. 96 12v with 460k miles. The truck was off the road for many months last summer while I restored the body and did various...

    Leaking hub seal

Thank you much! I will keep fingers crossed and check it periodically. I didn't lose much fluid at all, just enough for some seepage. It did not saturate the drums or the shoes, so Im hoping no harm done to the seals. I did of course, degrease/clean the entire hub/brake area of all seepage.

    Leaking hub seal

Hey Ozymandias, I checked the breather. You were absolutely correct! The breather fitting was plugged with dried gunk, but the rubber hose line was clear. I cleared the fitting. Now, my next question; Have I damaged both seals to require replacing them, or will simply clearing the line restore...

    Leaking hub seal

you mention the breather.....got me thinking. i had done major work; bed off, front fenders of etc, and i remember the rear breather was hanging low toward the ground for many months while in my shop over the winter. not driven. I wonder if the line filled with fluid, and not that it is back...

    Leaking hub seal

While just checking the brake shoes on both rear hubs, i found that both sides are leaking, it does not appear to be the brake cylinders as those seals are dry. Thankfully no fluid on the shoes. I seemed to remember doing one of the seals about ten years ago. Would it be normal for both hubs...
