Need input , thinking of changing trucks

I wouldn't waste my time with any other gearing than 4.10's on these trucks. 2K RPM at 70 MPH in 6th.

Need input , thinking of changing trucks

I just got a 2017 CTD C/C long bed dually 4.10's 68RFE pulling a 19K 43' toyhauler. Absolutely no dead pedal. Pulls awesome. Exhaust brake works real nice. Stability is second to none. There is no comparison to an SRW. It's what duallys do....Pull heavy.

The Radio Flyer received six new rubbers today.....

Thank you for your real world observation. Much better than internet heresy. I'm seriously considering these tires when I get ready to ditch the Nexens. I'm exclusively on pavement and tow heavy in the summer.

How is the ride on the 500's? I hear not that great.

Dealer cannot fix my trucks issue

Go take a look on the "other" Cummins forum. Someone just went through this identical problem and come to find out the turbo need to be replaced. All is well for him now.

T05 - SCR Emissions Recall - Anyone got this fixed yet?

You doing hotshot loads? I will be tied up tomorrow but we need to hook up in he near future. We go by Stockton from time to time just out riding around. Jay.

Death Valley in Summer - NOT GOOD! 6-speed troubles...

There are some good points made on upgrades. Downfall is they all cost money on a truck with a few miles on it and 640 pounds of torque without tune. When you add it all up would it be more cost effective to trade up to a 3500, 4500, or 5500 with an Aisin and 4.10's? This truck is your lively...

What oil is in your Cummiins today ?

So if 4WD is rarely used, this isn't a big deal to get on every oil change. My dually never goes off pavement and is used for pulling my 5'er and bouncing around town. Stays in the garage most of the winter.

What oil is in your Cummiins today ?

Isn't the Carden joint still spinning when in 2WD?

What oil is in your Cummiins today ?

Are all you 4x4 guys hitting the cardan joint grease zerk with grease when you do an oil change?

Death Valley in Summer - NOT GOOD! 6-speed troubles...

A 4.10 geared Aisin gets you 30K+ on towing. Of course that means getting a new truck.

Difference Between Laramie And Laramie Longhorn

I am about 1 inch lower in the rear than the front with the 5'er on the hitch. I have a 2016 Keystone fusion 414 Toy Hauler that specs at 15.300 dry 1900 gross. Pin weight is advertised at 3600 empty. Im sure loaded its a good bit more. I don't have a picture with it hooked up yet. Here is one...

Difference Between Laramie And Laramie Longhorn

The air ride on the 3500 is not a four corner system like the 1500 and the suspension is different from the 2500. The air ride on the 3500 is more of an "auto level" than anything. Think of it as an automated integrated airbag system. When dropping my 5'er on the 5th wheel, it sacks out the rear...

Difference Between Laramie And Laramie Longhorn

I may have a little insight to add here. For starters, I pull a 43' 19K gross 3600 pin weight empty 5'er fairly regularly. So DRW was pretty much the only way to fly. I purchased this 5'er and a 2016 Tradesman 2WD G56 3.42 gear a year ago. We pulled 5000 miles last year and 1500 so far this...

    Ram 2500 Gas, 6.4 or 5.7?

May I assume you were not hauling or towing anything with the Hemi? Also, you are comparing a 5800 pound truck to an 8000 pound truck. I also have spend quality time in a 1500 Hemi unloaded going cross country in a hunting partners truck. It performed quite admirably. Also, there is not much...

    AISIN on New RAM Question

Probably less loss of deceleration performance due to torque converter being locked up better. This is one reason why I went with a G56. The exhaust brake experiences zero loss through the direct link the clutch and transmission provide.

    Ram 2500 Gas, 6.4 or 5.7?

I am not bothered with a transmission downshifting, I've had to deal with it for the last 3 truck purchases prior to going diesel. I just don't like taching 4000-4500 RPM with an engine roaring for hours on end when I want to pull a load. Sure the gassers will do the job, but the price of...
