    I tried what crabman suggested and it still won't start. I was wondering is the fuel shutoff solenoid is supposed to click or not when the key is turned one notch (not starting the engine). Mine is not clicking and I was wondering if it is supposed to click then I have found the problem. But...

    I am sorry I forgot to mention that I put in a new fuel solenoid. The sentence in my first post (it sounded like the engine was right on) was a mistake. It should have said (It sounded like the engine was out of time so I pulled the timing gear cover. The timing was right on).
