Several ?related? or not electrical nuisances

Yes I did indeed do that. I had a corroded ground at the driver’s side engine block. I removed the external voltage regulator and went back to ECM control for the primary field after I fixed the grounding issue. You guys were right, I was wrong. I think I still need a new Dorman 10405696ABA...

    Voltage and charging problem

Here’s what I found; had a bad ground on the engine block. So, I fixed that and put the charging system back to factory. The external voltage regulator created a few issues once I started checking a few other things. Poor fuel pressure regulator performance, poor injector performance and I...

    Voltage and charging problem

The system reads from drivers side battery and charges on passenger side battery. A bad crossover could do that if driver’s side reads low because the computer will just keep charging on passenger side. I understood that. My point was ultimately if you have an aging PDM with a corroded board...

    Voltage and charging problem

Well I Don’t either. But electric issues aren’t my forte’. I’m going to check my crossover for internal corrosion, because the ends are fine. I did an external regulator to solve my issue. Granted, my Power Distribution Module needs to be replaced. I will keep you guys posted on what I find...

Several ?related? or not electrical nuisances

I see. I didn’t know 03 was different. I’m aware of how my 04.5 is setup. Thank you for clarifying that :-)

    Voltage and charging problem

I’ll see if my Witech can do that. Dodge’s consistent poor quality in their electrics in our trucks is obvious. Thanks:-)

    Voltage and charging problem

Alright. I’ll check that again, because I honestly can’t remember if I had a difference in voltage. I do know that at the alternator I was getting 8 to 18 volts. Let the Group Spanking begin.... *snort* I hope you guys have a good Sense of Humor:-)

    Brake Caliper Frozen

I always grease the heck out of the slide pins on my 04.5, the pistons on those rear calipers get stuck after about a year when you replace them. With free replacement that’s fine, but I tap on the caliper frame to free them up. Know issue with my truck for me.

    strange alternator

Hmmm...well let me check on that then. I do understand the charging system but my crossover seems fine, at least on both ends. I’m just telling you guys what I did to fix the issue with my truck. ICM needs replaced though, and ECM most likely

    Voltage and charging problem

And no, I didn’t think it would boil only 1. However what I do know is the IPM is most likely the culprit. With issues at fuses 11 & 13, FCM power feed. You’re assuming every IPM in a 3rd Gen is at 100%. These 3rd Gens all have the ICM corrosion issue, and they’re getting old. You guys can...

    Voltage and charging problem

Well perhaps. In my truck the voltage was spiking up and down from 8volts to 18volts, and boiling my passengers side battery. IF it was the crossover only I wouldn’t have had a voltage spike. I’m all ears friend, educate me on the proper fix.

    Intermittent wiper function not working

And........just check that relay before you tear that motor assembly apart:-)

    Voltage and charging problem

This guy is going to keep boiling One battery at a time:-)

    strange alternator

Also the battery temp sensor won’t cause an overcharge.... it just varies the charging rate based on temp.
