    Need help diagnosing vibration 60-75mph

498K and still on OEM. I should give the front end a good once over soon to see where it's at. I'm pretty sure it's time to replace the track bar bushings. Starting to feel a little wander in the steering.

    Not charging, no code

Alternator, pulled it and had it tested.

    Not charging, no code

Usually your alternator should be charging at around 14.5 volts or so. The voltage is controlled by the PCM if I recall correctly. I've replaced mine on my 04 once, never threw a code that I recall.

    #4 injector line leaking

This is the o-ring on the 5 year old connector tubes, the originals that came out when I installed the new injectors looked nearly new. I was sure to use lube when I installed them.

    #4 injector line leaking

Resurrecting an old thread. Recently I started seeing more fuel leaking again. This time from #2 and #5. Decided to replace the o-rings on the connector tubes, don't recall which brand these are, but this is a problem. Looks like the old o-ring is falling apart, kind of brittle. I'll post a...

    Front axle u-joint

Good to know. I used to store all of the special info on parts I had learned through the years in my phone. Worked great until I broke the phone and couldn't retrieve all of my info. I'm going back to a notebook, the type with paper.

    Front axle u-joint

Thanks, I found his site but hadn't gotten that far. I'll go through it once I get this u-joint replaced. I've got to replace the feed tube o-rings today too. Seems the only time I get to work on my own truck is when I'm not home.

    Front axle u-joint

Honestly, I'd never seen the AAM joints. I've had good luck with the Precisions in the past, although Napa now stocks Chinese SKF brands. In the future I'll likely go with the Spicer sealed u-joints. OEM u-joint from the dealer was $108

    Front axle u-joint

Gotcha, odd that I didn't find that one. I'm really confused as to what's going on with the left side, I wish I had a little more time tomorrow to pull that axle out and measure it as well. I can't imagine the ears on the yokes being bent that much, the holes for the caps would no longer be...

    Front axle u-joint

A little correction, I'm replacing the right front. The left was the one I had issues with the last time. I pulled the axle out tonight and took measurements, the 464 or 6813 will work just fine. I'll get the new one installed in the morning. Once I get home I'm going to have to pull the left...

    Front axle u-joint

Yep, going to pull the axle out in a few and see what it measures. I've never found anyone post what part number works.

    Front axle u-joint

Looking into the Spicer, their website shows the same dimensions as Precision. My Napa guy has seen this once before, he said the owner had to go with oem. I found an oem, just waiting for their guy to get back to me with measurements.

    Front axle u-joint

Just for reference, the cap to cap outside measurement of the UJ464 is 4.172.

    Front axle u-joint

I've got to replace the left axle u-joint, truck is an 04 3500 SRW 4X4 QCLB. I recall the last time I had to do this, the SKF UJ464 u-joint was nearly 1/4 too long in the cross section. I had made notes on this, but I'm not at home and can't recall where it is I put them. (Getting old sucks!)...

04 48re getting hot, shifting differently

I've got one with a part number of 12415C, it's a transtar number, but also seems as though it's made by Rostra. It's the HD model.

04 48re getting hot, shifting differently

The harness appears good. I'll replace the transducer, it's simple enough. Pretty sure I've got a new one in the parts cabinet. Thanks for the help. I'll post an update next week when I get to fix my mistakes.

04 48re getting hot, shifting differently

Nope, that's one thing the trans shop failed to mention. It runs cooler, until it doesn't. I should have known better.

04 48re getting hot, shifting differently

Only mod to the transmission cooling system is the heat exchanger/ torque converter cooler has been bypassed. I thought I had listed this, but obviously didn't. That would have been helpful. I did this on the advice of a trusted transmission shop, but after reading up on it, I'm not sure that...

04 48re getting hot, shifting differently

Pretty much what the title says. I rebuilt the trans a few months ago, Goerend valve body, Precision billet RV torque converter, gpz frictions. After fixing the wires in the 8 wire plug, all is well, shifts great. With summer here and Temps in the 90s, I've noticed the truck runs a little...

    Vibration at highway speeds

Do you have the 2 piece rear drive shaft? I'd look at the carrier support bearing first if you have the 2 piece shaft.
