So Martin says the 0.5s give about an extra 60hp with lower EGTs. what is this haze you speak about John and is it bad? I've been eyeing that extra 60hp because i could use it when hauling - getting on the high way quickly for instance. And I have a transmission that can handle it now.

wont stage 1's create more smoke with stock turbo? and higher EGTs?

Wanted to close this out by first saying thank you for all the help. I hauled 13K pounds of feed/trailer with the new turbo over the same terrain without any turbo leaks. Awesome group of people.

ok Oil sample came back fine. No evidence of fuel all particulates normal. Compressor output side of the turbo i just replaced.

Thanks Gentleman, lowering the exhaust allowed me to wiggle it out. Turbo installed. Now to clean the intercooler and tubes.

On a 2005 ram3500, can the turbo be removed without removing the exhaust manifold? I have the turbo/exhaust manifold nuts removed (:)). I still need about 2 more inches of drop. Drain pipe is out of the way. Do I have to remove the exhaust pipe from the support bracket and move it out of the way?

I like that Mahle is made in Germany. They have this nice troubleshooting UG as well located here Inflation has jacked the price up to $1063 for a new and $775 for a reman.

My water pump started leaking after 4 years (gates brand Im pretty sure). I now have a dayco, they recommend a flush before install. Is Prestone Flush Solution acceptable for the 5.9L?
