    2nd Gen Non-Engine/Transmission Headlights / tail lights

Thanks for the additional information. Those indications put the headlight switch high on the suspicion (99.9%) list as the power to those circuits are supplied through the headlight switch in position 1 and 2. There are a couple splice, ground and bulb faults that could have similar results...

Looking for Advice on Windshield Replacement - What’s the Best Approach?

Then there is the clarity. Nothing worse than heading into the sun and seeing a laminate haze affecting detailed vision that should not be there, or an upper tint band that is a cloudy translucent instead of transparent. Cheaper is not necessarily better. Quality should be the top choice for...

    2nd Gen Non-Engine/Transmission Headlights / tail lights

Just thinking out loud...When did the lighting issue start? Is this on "Bumblebee"? If so, any wiring surgery during facelift? I assume the front parking lamps are on with headlights on. So, just no taillights with both low and high beams. Sure appears it is a faulty headlight switch contact 2...

    2nd Gen Non-Engine/Transmission Headlights / tail lights

More questions: 1. What happens to the dash lights when you switch to position 1 - Parking lights position? (Dash light adjustment to full bright) 2. Then position 2 - Headlights position? If the dash lights go out when transitioning from the parking position 1 to headlights position 2, more...

    2nd Gen Non-Engine/Transmission Headlights / tail lights

The connectors, mounting screws and shape of the switches are different. Anything is possible IF you like the Frankenstein monster look. I assume you had a problem with lighting and put a new headlight switch in, but that did not resolve the issue? Have you done any recent wiring repairs or...

    2nd Gen Non-Engine/Transmission Headlights / tail lights

I believe the "no taillights with the switch pulled all the way out" is the oddity. If position 1 (parking) works, position 2 (headlights) should also work for both head and taillights; switch unlikely defective. It's like a lost/bad ground or mis-wire with the headlights energized...

    2nd Gen Non-Engine/Transmission Headlights / tail lights

Do the brake lights, turn signals and 4-way flasher work properly in each situation? Pay attention to the brightness of the turn signal lamps. A broken element can fall across to the second element and reroute the power or ground through the alternate circuitry. Headlamps, both low and high...

Goodyear Duratrac vs Goodyear Duratrac RT

I think those sizes and specs are under the "Commercial All Terrain" DuraTracs. The RTs all show 3 peaks and mileage warranties...and three-ply sidewalls.

Goodyear Duratrac vs Goodyear Duratrac RT

Not sure what "Commercial All -Terrain" entails, but it is listed on Tire Rack's site where the lesser featured DuraTrac is listed. Note the on the second screenshot below for the Commercial All-Terrain tires there are two different load range LT275/70R18 tires. Both the black wall (LR D) and...

Goodyear Duratrac vs Goodyear Duratrac RT

I looked on the Goodyear site and noticed the tread blocks have different sipping and there was a comment that the RT has 3 sidewall plies for durability. I couldn't find the tire/tread ply specs for each tire on the goodyear site. The tread diameter, width and tire weight differences may hint...

    2nd Gen Non-Engine/Transmission 1995 3500 C&C trailer brake wiring?

Thanks for the color correction. I questioned my source, maybe myself o_O:eek:...hence the "?". Then the truck wiring full of "colorful zebras". I shall fix the error of my way... Then there are the aircraft electronic circuits where white or red are power and black is ground. Oh, the...

The Hunt for Trip Computer Back Light Bulbs

Question on the T3 bulbs you got. Are they LED? If so, do they dim when the dash lights are turned down?

    2nd Gen Non-Engine/Transmission 1995 3500 C&C trailer brake wiring?

captndavie, I assume you have an electric brake controller with 4 wires coming out the back. What brand and series, if available. I recommend you start by looking at how the truck and brake controller are wired together. The controller should have: (Usual colors) 1. Brake Controller Power...

    Turn signal cancel

Well, it has been a while...If the turn signals are functioning normally in both directions, and not cancelling in both directions, it may be the cam that rotates on the steering shaft either worn out or broken, or the stationary switch base mechanism mounted to the column. Best thing is...

    rear window leak water

Why wait on mother nature. You can always test it with an artificial downpour of you choosing by using a garden hose and adjustable spray nozzle at different flows, angles and pressures. May be more of a challenge if it was raining or freezing. And if you haven't located the drain holes, check...
