I think when I change or check those glow plugs, it might be best to just go ahead with installing the E-3 plugs! That is a good idea replacing the glow plugs with the E-3 plugs! I didn't think about that one! Good job:-laf

As a side note that meens nothing really is a friend of mine put the E-3 plugs in his motorcycle and he swears that it starts much faster with the different plugs. He didn't say anything about mileage going up. I may have to try those in my Cummins. Think they will help?

It is possible your steering column clock spring is getting an open circuit when it warms up and expands a little. If you don't know the clock spring is under the steering wheel and is used for the electronics that are mounted to the steering wheel as well as the air bag. Good Luck.

I second back flushing the heater core. I bet that will fix the problem. Let us know if you have found the problem.

Have you tried swapping relays to see if the relay is at fault? I would do that first as a very fast test.

The code pretty well states the PCM is at fault and needs to be replaced and programmed. You may try and disconnect the batteries and then reconnect them after a few minutes to see if that may help. I do not have any other suggestions. Maybe someone else will chime in. This information is from...

The P0126 code is not in my service manual as a good code. Could it be P0216? If so that is the Fuel Injection Pump Timing Failure code and normally means the pump is shot or the lift pump is not providing any fuel pressure to the injection pump.

84,614 today and the truck just gets driven to haul building materials and tools for the most part. I have on occasion taken it for vacation to Florida and Texas. Any other time it sits in the climate controlled garage. No failures yet.

The engines that idle like that are using a mechanical fuel injection setup. The camshaft does have a lope, but that is not what is causing this type of idle.
