Hi Papa I think the tone wheel on the front would be the simplest way to fix it the 03 and up had that design but the o3 tone wheel has 58 teeth and an opening for TDC

The cono clutch will work just fine for this truck, Does the truck have a 13" flywheel or 12 1/4" if it has the 13" you need a 1947-O clutch if its 12 1/4" you can upgrade to the 13" with a 1947-OK which includes the 13" flywheel these are South Bends #s Hope this helps

I have one now that has the same problem what happened was the crank thrust is bad broken off inside and lets the crank move 3/16in and shreads the belt take a bar and move the crank back and forth if it moves that is your problem.
