Thanks, I pulled the transmission out and pulled the tail cover off and found a spring laying in the bottom of the cover that came out of one of the second gear from the rear. I am going to pull the gear and see how bad it is worn.

I have NV4500 tyranny in my 3500 and this week I was pulling a trailer about 6000# and when I tried to down shift I had trouble getting it out of gear the stick would move ,but it wouldn't move the gear. I taken the check valve out of fuel cap and going to try that and if it works i will get me a new cap that is vented for vacuum. Thanks guys for all the good information.

Ok ,thanks will check vent on tank,cap is vented but it relieves the pressure in the tank,it don't relive the vacuum from the tank

Has anybody had any trouble with a vacuum in the fuel tank. When I stop for fuel I have to pull on the cap to get it off,if there is a vent to prevent this where would it be located or what other options have I got...

I have a problem about once a week sometimes it will go for a month before it happens again. The engine will shut down to idle for about 3 to 5 sec. then pick back up & run good the engine check light comes on. I have changed fuel filter don`t help. Had one go to leaking and took it to the local cumnis dealer and they send it to a radiator shop got it fixed. That was two years ago still not leaking.

If I tell you how many miles I got on mine it will probable go out, I have pulled travel trailers heavy construction trailers with it and no trouble so far,I have 220,000 miles on it.
