    Anyone running a tuner on a non HO auto 2011 3500 ?

I'm running a Smarty Touch undeleted. Love the power and low EGTs. I'm new to the 6.7L. Traded my 05 5.9 G56 for this one. Still getting adjusted.

    Smarty Jr.

John, What I have found with my Smarty Jr and G56 is too much power causes the DM Flywheel and Clutch to slip at lower rpm levels. I tow a 16K gross weight 5th wheel (rarely maxed out) and find if I keep in the HP band and out of the torque band (read higher RPMs), the rig runs well with little...

2nd Gen Non-Engine/Transmission Up Gradeing Front Coil Springs

My front end is about two inches taller. The truck rides level and is smooth, straight, and true. Spring bounce with that heavy bumper is firm and solid. If I hit a big speed bump, I can hit the bump stops if I bounce it hard. It doesn't happen unless I make it happen (which is NOT very often).

KBrennan I have a Road Armor Stealth and upgraded with a 2" Kore leveling kit. Couldn't ask for a more improved ride or weight handling. BF

Help with stock 04 & 05 radio compatibility

My pleasure! With the Alpine you'll need adapters for the antenna connection (one for the radio and another for the OEM antenna cable). Dodge uses a non-standard connector (at least on the RB4). Worth looking into! BF

Help with stock 04 & 05 radio compatibility

CChase I've been struggling with the same issues. The RB1 and RB4 units are Navigation radios. There is no way to integrate iPod/iPhone into them because of the navigation. My solution was found with Alpine. I kept the stock unit and bought an FM Modulator interface. It's a direct connect to...

    33" tall tires for drw???

WMoroni 17" tires are harder to find in the sizes you're looking fo that will correctly fit a stock (6") dually rim. You can find 265-315 size 17 inch rubber all day long but the wheels are tougher. I have found 6 1/2 inch width dually wheels that will accommodate 265 or 285 sized tires. Check...

    06 start/run problem

ckusy Some things to check: -Do you have a fuel pressure gauge? Could be a failed (or failing) lift pump or fuel delivery issue. If not, you may be able to disconnect the fuel line to the filter and check for fuel flow through the line. Just turn on your ignition without starting the truck...

    Gauge mount

The install above is the exact procedure I used for my Boost and EGT. Very visible and very out of the way. If you do install overhead, I do remember an extender cable required for the EGT from the thermocouple. I use the ISSPRO white faced gauges. Paint the mount to match. BF

    Kore 2" Lift Kit

Did a Kore on my 05 Dually about three years ago. Don't recall anything special except some patience. The shock towers are a little fidgety to get off and on. You'll like the new look. BF

    Best Tuner/Add On for Mileage

Been running a Smarty JR about two months now. 2-3 increase in MPG, safe but noticeable power, and a great big increase in the fun factor. :D

    35 inch tires for dually

It's not quite that simple. Along with increased tire size, one has to ensure wheel size and offset is proper to keep the rubber from touching especially under load. Some of the 2nd generation guys have successfully run P255 rubber on stock wheels at a trade of load handling (E to D). To...

    Muffler replacement

I'm running a MBRP mufler. Works well with a better flow and sound. If you go with the MBRP, you'll need to cut about 4" off you tailpipe at the mufler. Other than that, everythin is straight bolt on. Replacement pipe and mufler use factory hangers, and it's all clamp-on. I'm not bombed other...

    MPG with slide in

In March, I drove from Seattle to Bloomington, IN, and the best/worst I got was 13. 3/10. 6. I traveled I-90 most of the way. Got a lot of winter fuel along there. Then left Bloomington and drove to Southern Utah for vacation. Best/worst I got was 9. 8/15. 1. The 9. 8 was in Colorado and...

    Bilstiens or Rancho

I ran Rancho RS9000 on all four. I like the adjustability. When I installed the KORE HD Leveling, I installed the Bilsteins as they were longer for the lift in front vice spending more money for longer Ranchos. The 9000s are still in the rear and are adjusted for the load when I carry the...

    extended warranty

My auto insurance (GEICO) offers mechanical breakdown coverage which is well above and beyong the Dodge extended warranty for a fraction of the cost. Check with yours. You may find a better deal with greater coverage. BF

    Gauge Time

Bob Do you tow or haul, or are you going to bomb your truck? If so, I would consider a transmission gauge over a rail pressure gauge or get both. Temp tells a lot about how hard your transmission is working especially under big loads. I had all three (boost, EGT, trans temp) in my 01, and it...

Greg Boardman of DRC passes away

So sad. Greg was a good man and a great know-it-all! He has helped me build my best truck ever. You'll be missed dude! Your parts, wisdom, and spirit will ride for a long time. A puff of black smoke to ya! For the Boardman family, my prayers are with you in your time of tragic loss and...
