Very true Topzide. AH64ID was kind enough to provide a link to the PacBrake site. I am going to do it. Its just going to have to wait until I can put sufficient funds aside to do so. Something always has to give doesn't it??? :(
Thank you all for your thoughts and insights. I truly appreciate it! I over-maintain this pickup with synthetics throughout. I do have all the supplies needed to add a "mystery switch". I think Ill add that when I do the brakes. We're not traveling until mid-October so planning continues. I...
Thanks Jim! So, I don't have to pull in 2nd gear. The 48RE for 2003.5 does not have a Tow/Haul function. Only a switch to turn off the OD. So that is what I do and then I let the 48RE do its job (leave it in "D"). That particular pull out of Rapid City, the truck did not shift above 2nd until...
Thank you all for your advice and words of wisdom. Maybe Sag2 could jump in and clarify but I'm pretty sure in order to install an EB on my 2003.5, it would require a transmission VB upgrade to keep my converter locked up with the EB engaged. Otherwise, the EB is useless. This pickup still has...
Thank you for the response John. Something I neglected to mention was we are coming out of North Dakota. As I have researched our options of routes, it appears we have choices. However, I feel I am still in the dark as to what challenges await me. My sweetie may have to settle for those views...
Hello Everyone! I have been gone for a very long time but have returned. Too long a story there....
I will be traversing I-70 West bound from Denver to Grand Junction the third week of October 2025. I have never pulled my camper nor driven anything west of the Rockies, so this is a brand-new...
I run a President Bill with a President antenna mounted on the left front fender. I cant remember if the antenna is a Virginia or Iowa but it is a bottom load 60" whip. The Bill is a small radio so I mounted it on the Knee bolster, right side of steering column. I also ran my antenna coax...
So, I will finally have the funds and the time off AND a spousal unit that thinks it would be great fun to attend a May Madness in Pahrump. However, I cant seem to locate any information on any upcoming event. Are May Madness still a thing...???
We just spent two weeks in Port Lavaca, TxX and visited four Buc-ees! Unfortuately they were the small convenience store variety instead of a Travel Center. I was a little disappointed.... I wanted a T-Shirt
I owe an apology here. The only reason I knew to tap that galley was because of the expertise and knowledge provided by AH64ID. I thank you Sir! I have lost count over the last 19 years I've owned this truck, the amount of times members have come to my rescue. I thank you all!
About 15 years ago, i pulled galley plug located just above the ECM and installed mechanical oil pressure gauge. Cold idle gives me around 70 psi. Hot idle around 18 psi. At operating temperature (190) gives me around 48 psi.
JDoremire. Thank you very much for the input. I truly appreciate your words there. The other option is the Cooper AT3's. I put maybe 5,000 miles a year on my pickup and it only sees roads between April and October. Between October and April only comes out "as needed". The AT3's really seem...
I have the Michelin's for about 40,000 miles now. I like them alot. Think I am going to go to Cooper HT3 next time. I like the Cooper tread design and American made.
