2nd Gen Non-Engine/Transmission your LP fix opinion

As the saying goes, thats why they make chevys and fords, or in this case dodges. My fix came in the way of the stock type pump,[carter replacement, from Oriellys], the vulcan relocate/ big line kit, and a "tee" fitting in the top of the filter housing where the fuel pressure sender goes. I...

    Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) Fixed my lift pump !

I have been chasing a problem with my lift pump now for about 6 months. Driving down the hiway, cruise set at 60 - 65, and the fuel pressure gauge is all over the place between 12 and 0 psi [mostly 0 psi]. I have worn out the bolts changing lift pumps, installed the Vulcan relocate kit [a...

    Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) Diesel or oil

I have a 100 gallon aux tank on my '98 3500, whenever I have used oil around, I dump it in there. I have never noticed any thing different. The EPA types that come around my shop say to call it "used oil" instead of "waste oil". I have a drum in my shop that was labeled waste oil. When they...

engine revs up when I put it in drive

When in park or neutral I have a normal idle speed, around 700 rpm. When I put it in drive, the engine revs to over 1000 rpm, and the truck tries to move forward to the point where it takes alot of brake pressure to hold it back. Anyone have any ideas, or had this problem themselves?

    Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) What's the scoop on fuel additives

I have run my used oil back thru my truck, but never thought of the 2 cycle oil, that is a great idea. I am also in favor of not paying the road tax on it! I dont give a rats hiney either. Any kind of oil, as long as it is clean, should be better than no oil... . Right?

    2nd Gen Non-Engine/Transmission new seat

The upholstry guy bought the spring kit from Dodge. I think he used foam that he had in stock. Where the seat was worn from me dragging my butt in and out, he said there is enough material there to fix the side. It does not look new, but the price was right... .

    Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) What RPM are you running

I'm with RAJ on this one. Just before I hit the cruise control, I switch to hi gear on my gearvender, and run 70 MPH @ 1500-1600 RPM. Hi fuel mileage, lo noise, life is good. When pulling a load, I leave the auto trans out of O/D but put the gearvender in hi, she runs 65MPH @ around 1900-2000 RPM.

    2nd Gen Non-Engine/Transmission new seat

I just had the drivers seat repaired, [new spring kit from dodge, new foam, and repaired upholstry] for around $100. When the guy at the upholstry shop said he had done several of them, and would do it for that price, I told him to call me when it was done. Best $100 I ever spent...

    Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) Tons of trans problems.... shop don't know..

I had similar problems with my 98. 5 3500 a while back. I was sure that the trans was about to fall out on the road. I talked with DTT, they were very helpfull, said they would like to sell me one of their trans, but did not think that it would fix the problem that I was having. He told me...
