    Problem solved. The fan was not working at all (never overheated). The wire harness wraps around the frame about 18 inches from were it connects to the bottom of the radiator. 3 of the 5 wires were worn in two (inside the wire protector). Apparently it didn't show up on the diagnostic computer.

    Has anyone solved the problem with the fan clutch not engaging at idle? My A/C works fine as long as the vehicle is cool and/or moving down the road.     vistronic fan clutch My 2004 2500 QC A/C works fine driving down the road but at idle it blows hot air.     03 owners with low A/C output at idle

    Does anyone know if this applies to the 04's. My A/C guy said my fan is not working at idle. Sounds like the exact same thing.
