2nd Gen Non-Engine/Transmission '00-02 steelies on '94-99?

I know that the '00-02 16x8" alloy wheels will not fit the '94-99's without some modifications to the truck, does any body know about the stock (ST) silver painted rally type steel wheels? They are 7. 5" wide versus the earlier 6. 5" wide versions and have a slightly different slotted hole pattern. I doubt? if they went to a wider wheel just to give you one, I think it likely had something to do with the (then) upcoming rear disc brakes and/or any front steering linkage changes.
