Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) 00 wastegate

my 2000 auto stock truck wastegate sticks once and a while. what can i do to keep it closed? or open? I think I want it closed and it will make more air. When it sticks it smoke quite a bit. I have wd-40 the shaft then the smoke goes away for a while. The truck sits a lot the the wastegate sticks. pretty rusty on the shaft. Any tips will help

Go to search and look up wastegate or turnbuckle. There are awesome pictures and material needed to do the job. I am told if your wastegate is kept closed with turnbuckle you will set off a hi boost code on computer without a boost fooler,possibly voiding warranty. Boost foolers are sold in the classified. Hope this helps and not hinders.
