01 2500 4x4 axle width

Can any one with an 01 2500 4x4 tell me if the rear axle width is wider then the 99's that came with the old steel wheels. Just driving around town it looks like some of the newer truck with after market wheels, the tires stick out alittle futher. My 02 is on the way and I am debating if I need flares again. The width of my 99 with 35x12. 50x16. 5 on Weld 16. 5x9. 75 wheels from out side edge of tread is 82".
