Buddy has an 01, 4X4, Cummins, 6 spd. Needs to replace clutch, psi plate & pilot bearing. I seem to recall reading somewhere that in order to remove the cross-member the frame rails need to be spread a bit. Of course the Dodge Shop Manual simply states "remove cross-member" = nice, big help
.
I recall reading that the cross-member is tapered along the verticals at the inside frame rails and the section of the frame where the cross-member fastens is tapered as well.
So, am I remembering correctly, do the rails have to be spread? I assume if this is the case that a port-o-power will be needed for the removal. Of course along with a bigass trans hoist. :-laf
Thanks
