I am converting my 98. 5 to rear discs, a subject that I know has been on here many times as I have read all the posts. I am not going with the EGR or TSM. I am instead taking the route one memeber on here did and replacing everything with '02 parts including the axle housing flange and E-brake asssys. If I could get the dimension from the face of rotor to the wheel mounting surface on the rear wheel hub of a dually it would help me to pinpoint the location of the new axle housing flange more acurately.

Thanks!

I did this with a 3/4 ton and went from a 98. 5 dana 70 open drums to a 01. 5 dana 80 lsd disc both SRW. What are you trying to do?

I have a dual wheel 98. 5 and I am trying to install the complete rear disc/emerg brake setup from an 01. 5 or 02 dually. I will have to remove the original housing flange that bolted up the drum brakes and replace it with one for the disc set up. I would like a measurement from the face of the rotor to the wheel mounting surface to help determine where to place the new housing flange. Because it is a dually the rotor has to set back farther for the caliper to clear the inside dual wheel. The 01. 5&02 hub is thicker than the 98. 5 so I will need to fab a spacer to go between the rotor and wheel hub. If I knew what this dimension was it would make it a lot esier to figure the spacer thickness. Does this make sense?

do you already have the disc brakes? if not , why not just get the whole axle set-up you need in one piece? less headaches in the long run.
