i have a customer whose abs pump is continuing to run even with the key off. i pulled the the fuse out and it quit, am thinking it has a shorted control module. does anyone know of a reasonable place to buy one or also noticed some places that rebuild them? also if buying a new one does it have to be programmed? i also may know where there is a used one at, would it have to be programmed if different axle ratios on the trucks?
Thanks for any help,
Matt

The DRB III Chrysler scan tool is worth is weight in silver for a job like this. It will help properly diagnose the ABS system and program a replacement if needed.

Not trying to hijack your thread, But what's the going rate for A scan tool like the one you use Wayne M? I looked around on ebay and they look expensive.

I had a friend with that issue a few years back, and if I remember correctly you cannot buy the controller separately. The entire unit with the pump is very expensive. He ended up finding one at a wrecking yard and the controller worked so he swapped them out. I don' t remember that he had any need to program it.

I checked with 2 dealerships and they both quoted $992 for the module. they said it was the module only but it may have included the pump. the valve was seperate. I found a couple places online that offered exchange modules for less than $300 so will most likely go that route.
