I've posted this before with no luck, I'll try again...

My DTT won't shift out of first gear almost every morning in the same spot when I leave my house. I have to pull over to the shoulder and stop, shift in and out of N, and try accelerating again. It will eventually it will shift into 2nd and get going... then, when I come to a stoplight it will stay in 3rd and won't downshift... . even if I shift to N and back to D while stopped it will shift into 3rd, not 1st. So, the only way around this is to make sure I'm completely stopped and manually shift into 1st. I tried to shift into 1st once while rolling and the transmission made a whining noise locked up on me... . DTT told me not to do that again.

Both Governor solenoids have been recently replaced as suggested by others. I also have a fairly new TIMBO APPS... what could it be?

Observations - if I hit a speed bump or any large bump while in second it will knock my truck out of 2nd into 1st and won't upshift again... also, after exiting the freeway and making a left uphill turn it will also pop out of 2nd 90% of the time... . then I have to redline it in 1st to get over the bridge so I can out of the way of traffic and pull over to the shoulder for the same routine again.

-Also, 99% of the time when it does shift into 2nd it will shift into 3rd but I've had it pop out of 2nd a couple times while going straight (left turn it will)... but if I hit a speed bump it pops into 1st for sure and won't upshift. (this has nothing to do with my shift linkage beacuse it doesn't matter if I manually shift from 1st to 2nd it still won't upshift)

Could this be a computer problem (sensitive to bumps)? Or possibly a loose wire? When I'm driving around running errands during the day this behavior is totally random... . sometime it shifts and sometime it doesn't. It's driving me crazy, I've been limping around now for 3 months and I always have to drive in the right lane because I never know when it's going to happen.

The truck has both the ATS fix and a DTT noise filter.

Any ideas? I'm in Southern California and I will pay you to fix this damn thing so I can have my old truck back! Seriously, I will hook you up! Any DTT installers in Southern California who can help me? #@$%!

I would call DTT and ask them for an installer/dealer in your area.

I have always heard that DTT has excellent customer service and stand behind their product. Keep working with them.

He's talking about the return spring on the trans throttle. It's on the left side, just above the pan and a little bit towards the rear. It gets in the way when you adjust the bands and have to move it to access the nut/bolt adjustment.

Yup, such a simple piece that can (and has) caused many transmission shifting issues. I had mine pop off driving dirt roads in Baja, and I've forgotten to re-install during band adjustments. It plays havoc with the shifting. Just suggesting to check the simple things first... . wish I would have

The next thing I would check is the speed sensor. Pull it out and clean the shavings off the magetic tip and re-install. My DTT is finally wearing out, and I go through these steps a lot when it starts to act up:

1) clean Speed sensor, or replace

2) filter and fluid change (adjust bands)

3) clean or replace solenoid and pressure sensor

I have close to 200k on my DTT, and get a lot of shavings and soft material builing up on the filter, speed sensor, and solenoid. I too would like to know if there is a DTT installer in my area..... I'm also looking at a first gen. with a NV4500. I love / hate my auto 24v.
