Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) 01 Fan Clutch - any better ones??

I need to replace my Fanclutch as I've NEVER HEARD it come on and the usual tests don't seem to mean anything to me. My rig seems to run to hot. . , especially since it is getting warmer. Folks said you can go to any parts supply house - is that correct - I mean is there a better one available - I know about the horton - but I mean a stock one??? Does anybody have a part # for a recommended one?????
